Exhibition of fine art works awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize

The exhibition is organized to introduce and honor the outstanding achievements in the artistic careers of painters, sculptors, and photographers who have made positive contributions to the development of Vietnamese literature and art in general, and the fine arts and photography industries in particular.

The Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Literature and Art are prestigious awards given to exceptionally outstanding works of high literary and artistic value, and for their ideological content; they are a recognition and appreciation from the Party, the State, and the people for artists and intellectuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the country's literature and art.

Among the 128 authors and co-authors awarded or posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2022, the fine arts and photography sector had 26 authors who received or were posthumously awarded prizes, including 3 authors who received or were posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and 23 authors who received or were posthumously awarded the State Prize.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to admire 47 works, including 26 fine art pieces and 21 photographic works or sets of works by 26 authors who have been awarded or posthumously awarded the Prize.

The three authors awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize are: painter Bui Trang Chuoc, photographer Vo Nguyen Nhan, and Chu Chi Thanh.

The 23 authors awarded the State Prize include painters Nguyen Van Chung, Tran Dong Luong, Nguyen Tai Luong, Nguyen Minh My, Nguyen Van Giao, Hoang Sung, Dinh Gia Thang, Trinh Hoang Tan, and artisan Nguyen Dang San.

The works of the photographers who received the State Award and whose works are on display include Nguyen A, Nguyen Xuan At, Nguyen Dang, Nguyen Huu Loc, Lam Hoang Thanh Liem, Ngo Minh Nhat, Nguyen Hoang Nam, Tran Van Giac, Luong Hue Quan, Ho Sy So, Dinh Quang Thanh, Pham Van Thinh, Tran Van Tuan, and Le Van.

The award-winning works are representative pieces in the artistic careers of the authors, highly appreciated by the expert panel and recognized by the State.

These are works of fine art and photography of high artistic value, with profound ideological content, reflecting authentically and vividly the historical periods of the nation.

The exhibition will take place from August 30th to September 8th, 2024 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi .
