On September 5th, the international art exhibition “Friendship-Amistad-Pagkakaibigan 2025” opened at Thai Hoc House, Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam National Special Monument.
The exhibition features 49 works by 24 artists from three countries: Vietnam, Spain, and the Philippines, showcasing diverse approaches and unique styles, reflecting themes of heritage, people, and nature.
The exhibition's theme, "Friendship," is expressed in Vietnamese, Spanish, and Tagalog (Philippine), emphasizing the role of art as a global cultural bridge, fostering empathy and connection between cultures and communities.

Speaking on behalf of the participating artists, artist Le Thi Thanh said that this is an opportunity for visual arts from Vietnam, Spain, and the Philippines to speak with one voice. Painting, graphic art, sculpture, installation, 3D mapping… blend together, transcending all boundaries of borders, languages, and time, becoming a bridge connecting souls.
"We believe that each artwork on display today tells a story of history, identity, and aspiration; and when presented together, they form a larger picture of enduring friendship, respect, and cooperation between peoples," the artist expressed.
Vietnamese artists presented works rich in cultural identity, ranging from images of dragons, lotus flowers, and bronze drums to rural landscapes, urban life, and Vietnamese people during a period of transformation. Lacquer, silk, and acrylic materials were explored in diverse ways, demonstrating a constant capacity for innovation in their creative work.

Spanish art is characterized by its bold spirit, powerful expression, and profound influence from tradition and surrealism. The works in this exhibition continue the inspiration from masters such as Picasso, Miró, and Dalí, yet still bear their own unique mark, revolving around themes of history, self, and humanity. Vibrant colors, striking forms, and intellectual depth create a distinct appeal.
Philippine art is the result of a blend of indigenous, Spanish, American, and Asian cultures, creating an identity that is both free-spirited and profound. Works often reflect the relationship between humans and nature, beliefs, history, and social reality, ranging from folk-inspired paintings to contemporary conceptual and expressive art – all imbued with humanistic qualities and expressive power.

Speaking about the exhibition, Mr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam Cultural and Scientific Activities Center, affirmed that the exhibition is a vivid testament to the connecting power of art. Through visual language, the artists have conveyed humanistic messages, demonstrated cultural exchange between nations, and awakened a spirit of solidarity within the international community.
"We hope the event will not only be an artistic meeting point, but also a space for cultural dialogue, spreading creative inspiration and friendship," said Mr. Le Xuan Kieu.
The exhibition is open until September 21st.
