Ho Chi Minh City University of Law shortens university training time to 3.5 years

For the first time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law organized a summer semester to help students study ahead, shortening the training time to 3.5 years.

On the morning of September 5, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law held the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year simultaneously with the whole country according to the policy of the Ministry of Education and Training .

After the rebroadcast of the opening ceremony combined with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of National Education by the Ministry of Education and Training, Dr. Le Truong Son, principal of the school, beat the drum to open the 2025-2026 school year.

In the new school year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law has many improvements in training programs, facilities as well as development orientation.

Accordingly, the 2025-2026 school year is the first year the school has improved its training plan to shorten the training period from 4 years to 3.5 years. Of which, 3 years are for students to complete the 120-credit training program, and the remaining half year is for completing their graduation thesis.

In addition to organizing training into 2 semesters as at present, the school will organize a summer semester to encourage students to study extra to shorten their study time.

Also in this school year, the school put its third campus into operation, preparing to deploy branches in Nha Trang and the Central region; preparing to build and announce the roadmap to convert from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law to Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.

At the opening ceremony, in order to accelerate the digital transformation process in education, the school cooperated with AI Hay to give away 15,000 free AI Hay Pro accounts to students, lecturers and school staff.

This event marks an important step forward in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in learning, teaching and researching law in Vietnam.
