Duy Tan University was established by a decision signed by the Prime Minister in 1994, and is one of the first five private universities in the country during the new era.
Despite overcoming numerous difficulties and challenges, Duy Tan University has continuously developed and made significant contributions to human resource training for Da Nang , the Central-Western Highlands region, and the entire country.

Duy Tan University has developed a multidisciplinary training system with nearly 80 majors at all levels of education. Duy Tan University has provided over 87,000 university-level graduates, with a graduate employment rate exceeding 90% within one year of graduation. The university has also achieved significant results in scientific research, innovation, numerous patents, and useful solutions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son congratulated Duy Tan University on its achievements and contributions to the country and to students over the past 30 years. This event marks an important milestone in the university's journey of striving and development.
Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son stated that the Party and the State consider the development of public and private higher education institutions to be equal. Policies and management mechanisms for these two sectors are moving towards focusing on quality management combined with inspection, supervision, increased autonomy, accountability, and social responsibility.
According to the Minister, the transformation from Duy Tan University to Duy Tan University is a choice of organizational and governance model, and also a development model that demonstrates maturity and a need for new development from within.
The Minister of Education and Training hopes that this change is not just a name change, but a change aimed at depth, at unleashing creativity, and towards modern, intelligent governance. Universities will operate with a more scientific, advanced, and larger-scale governance system, with a higher mission, a broader and more far-sighted vision, and a focus on sustainable development.
"The government and the Ministry of Education and Training support this development model by assisting in the procedures to transform Duy Tan University into Duy Tan University," Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized.
With this transition, Duy Tan University becomes the first private university to switch to the university model in our country and the eighth university in Vietnam, alongside Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, Da Nang University, Hanoi University of Technology, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
