Duy Tan University was established by the Prime Minister 's Decision in 1994, and is one of the first five non-public universities in the country in the new era.
Through many difficulties and challenges, Duy Tan University has developed continuously, making many contributions to human resource training for Da Nang , the Central Highlands region and the whole country.
Duy Tan University has developed a multidisciplinary training system with nearly 80 majors at all levels of training. Duy Tan University has provided more than 87,000 university-level human resources with a student employment rate after 1 year of graduation reaching over 90%, with many results in scientific research, innovation, many patents and useful solutions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son congratulated Duy Tan University on its achievements and contributions to the country and its students over the past 30 years. This event is an important milestone in the school’s journey of striving and development.
Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that the Party and State consider the development of public and non-public higher education institutions to be equal. The policies and management mechanisms for these two sectors are moving towards focusing on quality management combined with inspection, supervision, increasing autonomy, self-accountability and social responsibility.
According to the Minister, Duy Tan University becoming Duy Tan University is a choice of organizational and administrative model, and also a development model that demonstrates maturity and the need for new development from within.
The Minister of Education and Training hopes that this change is not a change of name but a change towards depth, towards unleashing creativity, towards modern and intelligent management. Universities will be operated with a more scientific, more advanced, larger-scale university management apparatus, with a higher mission, a broader and longer-term vision, towards sustainable development.
“The Government and the Ministry of Education and Training support the choice of this development model by supporting the procedures to transform Duy Tan University into Duy Tan University,” Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized.
With this decision, Duy Tan becomes the first private university to switch to the university model in our country and the 8th university in Vietnam, alongside Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, Da Nang University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
