On September 22nd, Nam Can Tho University held its opening ceremony for the 2023-2024 academic year and welcomed over 6,000 new students of the 11th cohort.
Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, a lawyer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nam Can Tho University, said that in 2023 the university will enroll students in 41 undergraduate programs (including 2 new programs: dentistry and preventive medicine), 6 master's programs, and 1 doctoral program.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, the entire school had over 23,500 students and trainees participating in learning, practical training, scientific research, training, and recreation in a spacious, airy environment with modern facilities invested with over 13,000 billion VND.

During the 2023 admissions season, Nam Can Tho University awarded over 12.5 billion VND in scholarships to new students with excellent and outstanding entrance exam scores. In addition, the university also allocated over 1 billion VND to reward students from cohorts 7, 8, 9, and 10 who overcame difficulties and achieved academic excellence. From 2020 to September 2023, the university also contributed 30.5 billion VND to social charity work, assisting disadvantaged students in Can Tho City and other provinces and cities.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Nam Can Tho University has been awarded a quality accreditation certificate (cycle 2) by the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), and also received quality accreditation certificates for 11 undergraduate programs and 1 master's program.
