Gifted High School announces structure and sample test for 10th grade exam

On the afternoon of February 21, Ho Chi Minh City National University High School for the Gifted announced the structure and sample exam questions for the 10th grade exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

In order to help students best prepare for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year according to the 2018 General Education Program, the Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University provides information about the exam structure and sample exam questions.

The specific structure of the 10th grade exam at Gifted High School is as follows:

Accordingly, the 10th grade exam in 2025 at the Gifted High School will maintain the same exam subjects as previous years. Accordingly, each candidate registering for the exam is required to take 4 exams, including:

  • Three non-specialized subject exams, including: math, literature and English;
  • An exam in an elective subject from among the following subjects: math, literature, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and English.

Each candidate can register for a maximum of 2 specialized subject exams for grade 10.

In case of registering for 2 specialized subjects, candidates need to ensure choosing one subject in each of the following subject groups:

  • Group 1: Math, Literature
  • Group 2: Physics, chemistry, biology, information technology and English

According to the school's admissions board, the exam questions and other information about grade 10 admissions will be updated as soon as possible.

Accordingly, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Gifted High School will enroll students nationwide, allocating specialized classes corresponding to the following two learning facilities:

- District 5 facility (153 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Ward 9, District 5, HCMC) includes 7 specialized classes: Math, IT, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Literature.

The output standards of specialized classes at the District 5 campus emphasize the development of academic capacity, early access to specialized knowledge at high school and university levels, and orientation to develop talents in key scientific fields at all levels of education.

- Thu Duc campus (HCMC National University Urban Area) includes specialized classes oriented towards interdisciplinary fields. The output standards of specialized classes at Thu Duc campus emphasize the development of interdisciplinary thinking capacity through diverse career experience opportunities, orienting talent development towards important fields in economic and social life.

In this school year, the Gifted High School is piloting the credit-taking of some university subjects for students, which will be recognized to shorten the university study time later. Accordingly, Gifted High School students can register for credits of 5 basic, general university subjects such as linear algebra, general chemistry, etc. After completing the subjects and taking the exam, if students continue to study at the university level at schools under the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, these credits will be recognized.
