The current Labor Code stipulates that the retirement age of people working under normal conditions will increase by three and four months respectively until reaching 62 years old for men in 2028 and 60 years old for women in 2035.
From January 1, 2026, the retirement age for men is 61 years and 6 months, and for women is 57 years. Workers can retire no more than 5 years earlier than the regulations applicable to people with reduced working capacity; those doing particularly arduous, toxic, or dangerous jobs; and those working in particularly difficult areas.
People with high professional and technical qualifications and some special cases can retire at an older age but not more than 5 years older than the prescribed age at the time of retirement.
The age of eligibility for pension also increases in line with the retirement age. Male workers must be 61 years and 6 months old, and female workers must be 57 years old and have paid social insurance for 15 years to be eligible for pension.
The pension rate for female workers aged 57 and working under normal conditions is calculated at 45% of the average salary used as the basis for social insurance contributions, corresponding to 15 years of participation. The accumulation rate is then increased by 2% each year until reaching the maximum rate of 75%, corresponding to 30 years of social insurance contributions.
