Tuyet Thu transforms into Queen Mother Duong Van Nga

The play Queen of Two Kings will return with the name Son Ha. Artist Tuyet Thu plays the role of Queen Mother Duong Van Nga in the play, performing solo for 75 minutes.

She is currently rushing to practice to complete the play in time to participate in the International Experimental Theatre Festival in Ninh Binh in November 2025.

Tuyet Thu returns to historical drama

The Queen of Two Kings is one of the very famous experimental scripts by playwright Le Duy Hanh.

Director Le Nguyen Dat said the original script by author Le Duy Hanh is a drama.

This time, the play was edited by Dr. Le Hoang Long (son of the late playwright Le Duy Hanh) to suit the times, emphasizing Duong Van Nga's role in the country more than her love affair with the two kings.

"This is also the first time this script has been staged in full in the form of a play, so Tuyet Thu and I had to think a lot to make the play have depth, fully portray the inner feelings of a woman facing the country's turmoil, weighing the pros and cons to make the most correct decision" - Le Nguyen Dat shared with Tuoi Tre.

Coming from the Cai Luong training class of Stage Arts School II (now Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema), Tuyet Thu has had many turns, from dancer to drama and film artist.

However, Cai Luong is still a strong current in her heart. In 2021, when participating in the National Drama Festival with the play Crying in the Blue Sky , Thu surprised everyone by excelling in the role of Queen Mother Van Dung and winning the individual gold medal.

It is her Cai Luong roots that have helped her play historical and ancient roles very well. With Son Ha , viewers continue to wait for Tuyet Thu to shine.
