"SEA Games 33 is a very important tournament for U22 Vietnam , and the same goes for U22 Laos. As you can see, coach Ha Hyeok Jun has helped U22 Laos become stronger. Because each group has 3 teams, every match is important to us. U22 Vietnam's goal is very clear: we must win to have a chance to advance to the next round. We have maximum concentration for the match," coach Kim Sang Sik said at a press conference before the opening match of SEA Games 33, against U22 Laos.

Talking about his compatriot who is leading U22 Laos, Coach Kim Sang Sik shared: "I beat him 2-0 in the last match in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, but Coach Ha Hyeok Jun created an influence for U22 Laos in terms of organization and playing style. I really respect his ability. For my part, U22 Vietnam has been very busy recently to learn and determine how to play when meeting U22 Laos."

Coach Kim Sang Sik is very determined in his first SEA Games participation.

Although Laos football has made progress, it is still not considered a rival of U22 Vietnam in the opening match of the SEA Games. Coach Kim Sang Sik believes that the important thing is that the teams in the region help each other develop: "Actually, the Vietnam team has not had very good results in the Asian arena recently. But I believe the Vietnam team can do better.

In the ASEAN region, many countries are very passionate about football and I hope I can bring a big wave to develop Southeast Asian football together. We have to be serious with every tournament, including the SEA Games."
