On the afternoon of December 4, the Vietnam U22 team had a training session at the stadium of RBAC University (Bangkok) after the opening match, winning 2-1 against Laos U22 at SEA Games 33.
Central midfielder Nguyen Xuan Bac was not present at this training session with his teammates but only stayed at the hotel to rest and recover from the injury he suffered in the victory over U22 Laos.
Xuan Bac left the field near the end of the first half after a collision with a U22 Laos player in the 39th minute. Although medical staff came on the field to take care of him, the midfielder was unable to continue playing.
The midfielder of PVF-CAND Club left the field with a limp, and was given ice and bandages by the doctors of the Vietnam U22 team on his knee.
Sharing about his teammate's injury, striker Quoc Viet said Xuan Bac only needs to rest for 2-3 days before he can practice again.

Xuan Bac’s injury is clearly bad news for coach Kim Sang Sik when SEA Games 33 has just begun. Previously, U22 Vietnam lost captain midfielder Van Truong due to a knee injury right before SEA Games 33.
Besides Xuan Bac, in the hands of coach Kim Sang Sik at this time, only Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong is good at playing central midfielder. In addition, other players who can play in this position are strikers Viktor Le, Cong Phuong or Nguyen Le Phat.
Returning to the training session on the afternoon of December 4, Coach Kim Sang Sik divided the U22 Vietnam team into two training groups. The group of players who started the match against U22 Laos only did light recovery training.
The remaining group practiced normally to prepare for the match against U22 Malaysia on December 11. Mr. Kim directly observed this group of players right from the "ghost kick" warm-up and then directly instructed the players.
