Provincial People's Committee holds regular press conference for the first quarter of 2024

On the afternoon of April 11th, the Provincial People's Committee held its regular quarterly press conference for the first quarter of 2024, providing information on the socio -economic situation in the first quarter and key tasks for the second quarter of 2024. Comrades Dao Xuan Yen, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, and Dau Thanh Tung, Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, co-chaired the press conference.

At the press conference, representatives from the Department of Planning and Investment provided information on the socio-economic development and national defense and security situation in the first quarter, and the key tasks for the second quarter of 2024.

Accordingly, in the first quarter of 2024, amidst a mix of opportunities, advantages, difficulties, and challenges, with the spirit of "Discipline - Responsibility - Action - Creativity - Development," the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and all levels and sectors from the province to the grassroots have focused on leading, directing, and implementing the set tasks and solutions decisively, synchronously, creatively, and effectively, achieving many important and fairly comprehensive results in all fields.

Key highlights include: High and relatively uniform economic growth across all regions; the province's first-quarter growth rate (GRDP) reached 13.15%, ranking third nationwide and first among provinces and cities with the largest economies in the country. Disbursement of public investment capital and land clearance have shown positive progress.

Socio-cultural development continues to progress; social security is ensured, and people's lives are increasingly improved. National defense and security, and social order and safety are maintained. Based on the information presented at the conference and observations from practical experience, representatives from media agencies informed provincial leaders, departments, and localities about many emerging issues at the grassroots level that need to be addressed. They also requested that provincial authorities clarify several related issues, including the management of acacia wood procurement and processing in the province; the management of school lunch programs for students; solutions for the restoration and preservation of historical relics; the slow progress of the Ho Thanh area II project; attention to resolving difficulties in compensation and land clearance; policies and regulations for People's Artists and Distinguished Artists; and the plan for renovating and investing in the construction of the provincial stadium.
