On July 8th, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, received and worked with the Task Force of the Government Inspectorate on the management of mineral resources used as construction materials.

In the past period, the province's mineral planning has been carried out in accordance with the proper authority and procedures, with viewpoints and objectives consistent with the orientation of the mineral strategy. The demarcation and approval of areas where mineral exploitation rights are not subject to auction have been reviewed and cataloged by the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with regulations. The granting of mineral exploration and exploitation licenses has been carried out in accordance with the Mineral Law. From January 1, 2019 to the end of 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued 24 mineral exploration licenses and 37 mineral exploitation licenses. During the exploitation process, most mine owners actively completed the relevant legal procedures, complied with the provisions of the granted exploitation licenses and other legal regulations.

At the meeting, the members of the Task Force highly appreciated the recent results of Quang Ninh province's management of construction material minerals. The Task Force requested the province to further clarify the financial obligations and state budget allocations in the field of construction material mineral management; auctioning of mining rights; preparing construction material sources for key projects; and the prices, freight rates, and transportation fees at construction material mineral mines serving public investment projects, etc.

Comrade Nghiem Xuan Cuong acknowledged the contributions of the Task Force members. He emphasized that Quang Ninh province has relatively abundant and diverse mineral resources. In recent years, the mineral mining industry in the province has made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the province and the country. In the future, the province will continue to focus on leading and directing efforts to strengthen the management and protection of mineral resources, developing the mining industry in conjunction with environmental protection and socio-economic development. He requested that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment act as the focal point to continue coordinating with other departments, agencies, and localities to provide documents for the Task Force during the implementation of its tasks.
