UEH announces benchmark scores for 3 early admission methods

The early admission methods of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City for the 2024 regular university admission season include:

Method 3 - Admission of excellent students (PT3): Admission score is the converted score from the study results of the entire year of grade 10, grade 11 and semester 1 of grade 12 with some optional criteria (international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher, winning excellent student award of province/city, student of specialized/gifted school). Maximum score is 100.

Method 4 - Admission based on academic performance in subject combinations (PT4): the admission score is the average score of the subject combination in grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12, with similar criteria as above, and a maximum of 100 points.

Method 5 - Admission based on the aptitude test scores organized by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in the first round of 2024 (PT5): admission score is equal to the test score, with a maximum of 1,200 points.

The admission results show that the cut-off scores for 56 training programs have increased significantly compared to 2023. Specifically, in Ho Chi Minh City (school code: KSA), the PT3 cut-off scores range from 48-83, with the highest increase being 11 points.

PT4 scores range from 49-85 points, with the highest increase being 9 points, and PT5 scores range from 800-995, with the highest increase being 40 points.

The admission score for the Talented Bachelor Program and the ASEAN Co-op Bachelor Program is 72-73 points. This score range corresponds to candidates with excellent academic performance or higher, possessing an international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 73 points or higher, mostly students from specialized schools or top-performing students at the provincial/city level.

In Vinh Long (KSV), the scores for PT3 and PT4 are 49 and 40 respectively, an increase of 1-8 points compared to 2023, and PT5 is 550-650, an increase of 50 points. This year, this institution has attracted many candidates with excellent academic results to apply for admission.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, the standard scores for PT3 and PT4 show that most of the candidates admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics meet 3 criteria: excellent students or higher; possessing an English certificate or excellent student award at the provincial/city level; and belonging to specialized and gifted schools.

Notably, this year, nearly half of the admitted students achieved an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 73 points or higher. This provides a compelling basis for the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics' goal of training high-quality, internationally competent human resources.
