From taking care of material needs
One of the important tasks in ensuring a happy and prosperous life for the people is sustainable poverty reduction, leaving no one behind. To achieve this, Lam Dong province has implemented many comprehensive solutions and mobilized various resources to support people in developing their economy and improving their lives.
During the 2020-2025 term, the provinces of Lam Dong, Dak Nong, and Binh Thuan (now the new Lam Dong province) effectively implemented the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, linked with specific policies for poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households, and social welfare beneficiaries, especially ethnic minorities. For the 2021-2025 period, the total allocated capital for the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the former Lam Dong province was over 245.7 billion VND; in the former Binh Thuan province, 200.9 billion VND; and in the former Dak Nong province, over 1,040.8 billion VND.
The province has also effectively implemented the socio-economic development program for ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025. The program not only supports ethnic minorities in production, job creation, improving living standards, and providing fuller access to basic social services, but also invests in essential infrastructure. As a result, the lives of many poor and near-poor households, and those in "core poverty" areas, have improved significantly. Simultaneously, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been implemented effectively and decisively to help the poor "settle down and make a living." By the end of August 2025, the entire province had eliminated 5,691 temporary and dilapidated houses. The newly handed-over houses not only improve the quality of life for thousands of families but also create a new look for rural and mountainous areas, especially ethnic minority regions.

To improve spiritual life
In parallel, Lam Dong province focuses on improving the spiritual life of its people. The province places emphasis on three pillars: healthcare, education , and culture and sports, considering them the foundation of sustainable happiness. Infrastructure and equipment are invested in to be modern. The team of doctors and medical staff are constantly improving their professional and technical skills. The province encourages the development of the non-public healthcare system to improve the quality of service and patient satisfaction. The network of schools is expanded, and facilities are invested in to be solid and modern. Notably, Lam Dong pays attention to developing vocational education linked to job creation. Each year, tens of thousands of rural workers receive vocational training and career chuyển đổi, with many finding stable employment after training, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.
Traditional cultural, artistic, and festival activities are preserved and promoted, creating an atmosphere of unity and solidarity within the community. Mass sports movements are developing strongly. The percentage of people regularly practicing physical exercise and sports reaches nearly 35%, contributing to improved health and morale.
One of Lam Dong's outstanding achievements is the strong and widespread implementation of the New Rural Development Program. After the merger, the province has 80 communes meeting the new rural development standards (77.7%); 9 communes achieving advanced new rural development standards (8.7%); and 3 model new rural communes (2.9%). Infrastructure such as transportation, electricity, roads, schools, health stations, and rural markets have been invested in comprehensively, creating favorable conditions for economic development, increasing income, and improving the lives of the people.

For a developed and happy Lam Dong
It can be said that the happiness and well-being of the people is not only the ultimate goal but also the measure of the effectiveness of all development policies of the province. For the 2025-2030 term, the Provincial Party Committee has set a consistent goal: comprehensive development, with stability as the foundation, socio-economic development as the central task, and the happiness and well-being of the people as the ultimate objective. Therefore, all policies and decisions of the Party and government at all levels must be directed towards the practical interests of the people.
In his closing remarks at the First Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong Province, Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, affirmed: “The core, consistent, and overarching message is that all policies, strategies, and development efforts must ultimately aim at the well-being and happiness of the people. This viewpoint has been thoroughly discussed, is the common will of the congress, and is specifically reflected in the key targets and tasks in the congress documents.”
Accordingly, the province continues to focus on sustainable poverty reduction, increasing people's income, ensuring social security, healthcare, education, housing construction, and creating a safe, green, clean, and beautiful living environment. Each socio-economic development program must be linked to the goal of improving the quality of life, so that people can truly feel the benefits of local development.
Besides policies on job creation, income improvement, and improving people's living standards, the entire province continues to focus on effectively implementing poverty reduction policies, improving living conditions for poor households, supporting livelihoods, and providing means of production. The province mobilizes social resources and integrates poverty reduction programs and projects into programs with similar goals to achieve high and sustainable effectiveness, striving to essentially eliminate poverty by 2030.
National Target Programs for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority Areas; new investments, upgrading and improving socio-economic and cultural infrastructure; and promoting internal resources, enhancing the role of ethnic minorities in self-reliance and development have been strengthened.
Simultaneously, the province focuses on building a government apparatus of the people, by the people, and for the people, with the motto "close to the people, attentive to their needs," "listen to what the people say, explain things the people understand, and earn the people's trust." Emphasis is placed on building grassroots cultural life and forming culturally advanced, civilized, and united communities to strengthen national unity. This forms a solid foundation for Lam Dong to soon realize its comprehensive development goals, with the happiness and well-being of the people as its highest objective.
The multidimensional poverty rate in Lam Dong province decreased by an average of 1.43% per year. By the end of 2024, the province still had 35,434 multidimensionally poor households, accounting for 4.06% of the total households (12,337 poor households, accounting for 1.41%; and 23,097 near-poor households, accounting for 2.65%). It is estimated that by the end of 2025, the poverty rate for the entire province will be approximately 3.33%.
