According to a VNA correspondent in Laos, on October 20, in the capital Vientiane, on the sidelines of the 45th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Southeast Asian Nations (AIPA-45), Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha met and worked with Ms. Salma Benaziz, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense, Islam, Migration and Moroccans Abroad Committee of the Moroccan House of Representatives.

At the meeting, Ms. Salma Benaziz said that the relationship between Morocco and Vietnam has a long history, Morocco always values and wishes to promote the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam; at the same time, she wishes to strengthen and deepen the relationship between the two countries in the coming time. Ms. Salma Benaziz thanked Vietnam for always supporting Morocco at regional and international multilateral forums (IPU, AIPA), hoping that the two countries will continue to promote trade activities to boost economic development. She said that Morocco is ready to be a gateway for Vietnam to connect with African countries; highly appreciated the relationship between the two legislative bodies, considering it one of the important channels to promote the relationship between the two countries and hoped that Vietnam would support Morocco on the issue of Western Sahara.
For his part, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha was pleased to see the parliamentary cooperation between Vietnam and Morocco being promoted. He highly appreciated the cooperation between the two National Assemblies through delegation exchanges and coordination at international parliamentary forums such as within the framework of AIPA. Mr. Vu Hai Ha expressed his support and readiness to coordinate so that the Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups of the two sides can continue to inherit and promote the results of previous terms, continue to be a practical bridge to promote cooperation between the two legislative bodies; affirming that Vietnam is ready to be a bridge to promote relations between Morocco and ASEAN countries. Regarding the issue of Western Sahara, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha said that Vietnam supports the settlement of this issue through peaceful negotiations between directly involved parties on the basis of international law and relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. Mr. Vu Hai Ha said that it is necessary to seek a fair, long-term, satisfactory and acceptable solution for the parties concerned in accordance with the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter for peace, cooperation and development in the region. As an active and responsible member of the international community, Vietnam is ready to contribute to the process of promoting dialogue and finding solutions to soon stabilize the situation, for peace and stability in the region and the world.
