VNG, Zalo, Zalopay contribute to support people in the North to fight floods

Zalo has updated a series of new features to help people access emergency relief resources, while ZaloPay has become a donation channel in partnership with the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper to support people in the North in overcoming the consequences of Super Typhoon Yagi .

Specifically, in the context of the increasingly complex flooding situation, Zalo has activated the Zalo SOS (Request for Assistance) feature for users in affected areas.

When users select the "Request assistance" feature, Zalo will allow them to perform two actions: "Connect for relief" and "Contact for emergency assistance" directly on the Zalo Mini App "Vietnam Disaster Prevention and Control".

Users can share their status as "I'm safe" or "I'm having trouble," along with a description of their specific situation and location update. After posting, the user's status will also be displayed on their profile picture and timeline to share information with friends as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, the "Connect for Relief" feature helps people call for assistance in emergency situations. The "Emergency Contact" feature provides a list of hotlines in areas affected by the super typhoon.

In addition , the National Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, along with many ministries, departments, and localities, have continuously sent messages via Zalo OA (Official Account), updating information and providing guidance on storm and flood prevention to the people. To date, 143 million messages have been sent to people in the provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang , Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoa, etc.

With the goal of creating a convenient and reputable donation channel for philanthropists, and simultaneously spreading information to over 14 million Zalopay users nationwide, Zalopay has partnered with the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper to launch the program " Supporting people affected by Typhoon No. 3 ". The program's objective is to... We are raising 1 billion VND in donations within 30 days.

Just two days after its launch, the amount of donations recorded on the Zalopay app has reached over 400 million VND with 5,000 donations.

Besides calling for support from the community, VNG itself has also called on VNG Starters to directly participate in donating via Zalopay, joining hands to help people in the North overcome difficulties.
