
The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 6035/QD-UBND on recognizing the Hanoi Botanical Garden tourist site on Van Tien Dung Street (Tay Tuu Ward). The Botanical Garden is currently managed by the Branch of Hanoi Agricultural Investment and Development Company Limited - Tu Liem Tourist Fruit Garden Enterprise.
Hanoi Botanical Garden was established under Decision No. 4885/QD-UB dated December 15, 1997 of Hanoi People's Committee with the goal: "Building the Botanical Garden as a place to collect and preserve rare plants, creating landscapes and ecological environments to serve tourism and entertainment for the people of the Capital". On December 8, 2000, Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision No. 6780/QD-UB on approving the additional investment project of Hanoi Botanical Garden with the goal: "Building the Botanical Garden as a place to collect and preserve rare plants, serving the needs of scientific research and education ; creating landscapes and ecological environments to serve tourism and entertainment for the people and business activities to increase revenue for the State budget".
Hanoi Botanical Garden is currently preserving many precious tree species, trees listed in the Vietnam Red Book, suitable for developing eco-tourism; developing learning programs - practical experience - training - scientific research - education - culture for students at all levels in Hanoi and provinces across the country.
Hanoi Botanical Garden is very conveniently located in Tay Tuu ward, nearly 3 km from Ring Road 3 towards Cau Giay. Opposite Hanoi Botanical Garden is Tu Liem Tourist Fruit Garden Enterprise with an area of 20 hectares, currently planting and preserving rare Dien grapefruit varieties. Along Hoang Quoc Viet Street, extending through Tay Tuu ward, there are flower fields of all kinds, spreading out to create a vibrant flora right next to the center of Hanoi city.
Coming here, visitors can visit the exhibition house with rare insects, animals and plants with unique characteristics of this place. In the garden, there is a 1.5-hectare lake shaped like a map of Vietnam. The lake is located in the forest, creating a very beautiful picture. In the middle of the lake, there is an island surrounded by green trees and winding water around. Standing on the island - also the highest point of Hanoi Botanical Garden - visitors can observe the entire lake as well as the whole garden - Hanoi Botanical Forest. Coming to Hanoi Botanical Garden, visitors will feel the cool, fresh air.
At the Hanoi Botanical Garden tourist site, students can participate in folk games such as stilt walking, seesaw, tug of war, swing, and hopscotch; or participate in experiential activities such as planting flowers, planting trees, taking care of fruit trees, growing vegetables; or catching fish, catching ducks, feeding livestock and poultry...
Along with the function of conservation and research, Hanoi Botanical Garden also brings visitors experiences associated with nature and traditional culture through a unique highlight: the ancient Dien grapefruit garden of more than 20,000 m², stretching along both sides of the garden entrance. From October to February of the following year, visitors can not only admire the scenery of the harvest season, but also experience grapefruit picking, enjoying on the spot the sweet, juicy grapefruit segments - rich in the traditional flavor of the ancient Hanoians.
Hanoi Botanical Garden is expected to become an ideal green tourist destination, attracting many families, young people and international visitors to come and capture peaceful moments amidst beautiful nature and feel the rhythm of agricultural life in the heart of a modern city.
The Hanoi People's Committee requests the Branch of Hanoi Agricultural Investment and Development Company Limited - Tu Liem Tourist Fruit Garden Enterprise to be responsible for organizing the management, exploitation and development of tourist sites in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Tourism and related legal documents. Relevant departments, branches and the People's Committee of Tay Tuu Ward are responsible for guiding the organization of management, exploitation and investment in the construction of the Hanoi Botanical Garden tourist site in accordance with the provisions of law and the City, ensuring sustainable and effective development.
