On the afternoon of June 4th, striker Nguyen Van Toan was included in the starting lineup for Seoul E-Land's 1-2 defeat against Busan I Park in Round 15 of the K-League 2.
Van Toan has made 11 starts for Seoul E-Land in the 2023 season.
In this match, the star from Hai Duong was substituted at the beginning of the second half, but that was enough for him to set an impressive milestone in the South Korean second division.
Van Toan surpassed his former HAGL teammate, Nguyen Cong Phuong (410 minutes played for Incheon United), to become the Vietnamese player with the most playing minutes in South Korean professional football leagues (428 minutes).
Despite only joining Seoul E-Land at the beginning of the 2023 season, Van Toan has already started 11 matches, including 9 appearances in K-League 2.
Even if he hadn't been sidelined by injury for over a month, the Vietnamese national team star would have had even better statistics.
Up to this point, the player born in 1996 has one assist and has not scored a goal for Seoul E-Land, but what he has left behind is still very impressive.
Van Toan is highly regarded for his energetic playing style, wide range of activity, and willingness to drop deep to support the defense and retrieve the ball.
