Hoi An beat out competitors including Bali (Indonesia), Jaipur (India), Kyoto (Japan), Langkawi (Malaysia), Phuket (Thailand) and Siem Reap (Cambodia) to win this award.

Located on the northern bank of the lower Thu Bon River, Hoi An is an ancient town in Quang Nam province , covering an area of ​​less than 100 square kilometers.
