Hoi An beat out competitors including Bali (Indonesia), Jaipur (India), Kyoto (Japan), Langkawi (Malaysia), Phuket (Thailand) and Siem Reap (Cambodia) to win this award.
Located on the northern bank of the lower Thu Bon River, Hoi An is an ancient town in Quang Nam province , covering an area of less than 100 square kilometers. The town is notable for its unique architecture, featuring rows of old houses in a vibrant yellow hue, and colorful lanterns decorating the streets.
In 1999, UNESCO recognized Hoi An Ancient Town as a World Cultural Heritage site. It is beloved by tourists for its peaceful atmosphere, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of city life. Walking through the ancient town, visitors can encounter diverse cultural influences from the past in French-style buildings, the Chinese quarter, Japanese-style covered bridges, and assembly halls bearing Chinese imprints.

Visiting this heritage site, tourists can also discover the peaceful and vibrant atmosphere of the Seven-Acre Coconut Forest in springtime and the tranquil, pristine beauty of An Bang Beach - one of the most beautiful beaches in Asia.
In addition, Hoi An attracts tourists with its delicious local specialties at affordable prices, such as chicken rice, vermicelli with fermented fish sauce, grilled pork skewers, banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake), Quang noodles, cao lau (a type of noodle dish), etc.
In just the first three months of the year, Hoi An has consecutively received prestigious awards from reputable and well-known travel magazines and websites around the world. In February, Hoi An ranked second on Tripadvisor 's list of 25 dream honeymoon destinations, surpassing even the Maldives. The famous travel site Travel Off Path ranked Vietnam among the top 7 most trending destinations in the world in January.
At the same event, Ho Chi Minh City was awarded the title of "Leading MICE Destination in Asia 2023". In addition, several businesses from Vietnam were also honored in various categories of the World MICE Awards.
The World MICE Awards is a prestigious annual award honoring destinations, hotels, airlines, venues, and service providers specializing in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism.
