Recently, images of Miss Universe 2024 invitation letter from the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) to Miss Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen have been circulating on social media. Notably, the invitation was sent on August 27th, while Ky Duyen was crowned on September 14th.
This raises questions about the rigging of results and the transparency of the selection process for Vietnam's representative at this beauty pageant.
Miss Ky Duyen's invitation to participate in Miss Universe 2024 has caused a stir in public opinion.
The Miss Universe Vietnam organizing committee stated that five days after Ky Duyen was crowned (September 19th), she received an invitation to participate in Miss Universe in Spanish from the MUO organization. However, to facilitate the visa application process, the Vietnamese organizing committee requested an English version of the invitation. On October 1st, MUO sent back the English version, which is the document currently circulating on social media.
The Miss Universe Vietnam organizing committee asserts that this was merely an unfortunate mistake regarding the dates during data entry, leading to misunderstandings about the transparency of the competition. The organizing committee also released emails containing full information about the sending times from MUO to prove the authenticity of the incident.
The organizers emphasized that all processes and procedures related to Miss Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen's participation in national and international competitions were carried out in accordance with the law and ensured fairness and transparency. The issue regarding the date of sending the letter was an error and did not affect the legality or transparency of the competition in any way.
The organizers hope that the audience will understand and continue to support Ky Duyen in her upcoming journey at Miss Universe 2024, to be held in Mexico in November.
