On the morning of August 13th, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) held a working session with leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to discuss the implementation of the Project on Promoting Innovation in Regional Cooperation and Integration in the Post-COVID-19 Consequences to Promote Sustainable Tourism Development in Ha Tinh.
The project "Promoting Innovation in Regional Cooperation and Integration in the Post-COVID-19 Era to Foster Sustainable Tourism Development in Ha Tinh" is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and implemented from May 2023 to December 2025.
Over the past period, ADB has held numerous working sessions with relevant departments and agencies on the implementation of project contents; conducted field surveys at the Cau Treo International Border Gate, several hot spring locations in the Cau Treo border area, and community tourism in Lang Che village (Son Kim 2 commune); shared knowledge on sustainable tourism development with the potential tourism community of Lang Che village; trained local people in tourism skills, developed tour routes, promoted destinations, and connected destinations...

During the meeting, the delegation from the Asian Development Bank, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and other relevant parties exchanged views on the following topics: the vision and priorities of the local government in developing sustainable and comprehensive tourism in Son Kim 2 in particular and Ha Tinh province in general; recent tourism activities in Son Kim 2 and Ha Tinh province, as well as upcoming activities with ADB support.
The delegates also explored prospects for cooperation with the Lao People's Democratic Republic, particularly in tourism development in the border area with Bolikhamsai province.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Cong Thanh thanked ADB for its attention and support to Ha Tinh's tourism industry and affirmed that the department would cooperate closely in the implementation of the project's contents.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also proposed priority support from the ADB such as: support in developing tourism development strategies and action plans; infrastructure construction and development; technical and human resource support; market connectivity to promote Ha Tinh and Son Kim 2 on the Mekong River sub-region tourism network, thereby attracting international investors and travel businesses...

The delegation's work program will take place from August 13th to August 18th, 2025.
Here are some of the proposals from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Asian Development Bank:
- Strategic support: Developing strategies, detailed plans, and action plans for tourism development in Son Kim 2 and the border area.
- Support the construction and development of several infrastructure components: transportation infrastructure, water supply and drainage and wastewater and waste treatment, infrastructure connecting tourist destinations: Son Kim 2 - Vu Quang National Park route; roads to community tourism destinations; installation of bilingual tourist signage systems on main and regional routes and some regional-scale tourism service infrastructure such as the international tourism service and information center at Son Kim 2.
- Technical and human resource support: Providing training in management skills, foreign languages, and digital marketing for officials, businesses, and the community.
- Market connection: Promote Ha Tinh and Son Kim 2 commune on the Mekong sub-region tourism network, attracting international investors and travel businesses.
