An Giang: Youth of Coast Guard Region 4 for the sovereignty of the sea and islands in the Southwest of the Fatherland

On October 27, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, the Youth Union of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command held a conference of delegates of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the period 2025 - 2030, to evaluate the results of the youth union work and youth movement of the Region Command for the period 2022 - 2025; draw lessons, determine the direction, goals, targets, and tasks of the youth union work and youth movement for the period 2025 - 2030.

For the 2025-2030 term, with the action slogan: "Youth of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command: Courage, intelligence, pioneering spirit, discipline, creativity," the unit's youth union work and youth movement will focus on four major directions to build a strong youth union organization, contributing to the successful fulfillment of tasks for the sovereignty , security, and safety of the sacred southwestern sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Accordingly, strengthening the leadership of the Party committees and building the Youth Union is an important task, using the results of Youth Union work as a criterion for evaluating cadres, aiming to contribute to building a clean and strong Party Committee in the Region and a comprehensively strong, "exemplary and outstanding" unit. The Youth Union focuses on political education, revolutionary ideals, law, and the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Coast Guard soldiers," aiming for 100% of Youth Union members to have unwavering resolve, absolute loyalty to the Party, and to successfully complete their tasks.

On the other hand, the Youth Union is strongly innovating the content and form of its activities to attract young members, promoting key emulation movements such as "Army Youth Striving for Excellence" and "Four Goods, Four No's, Four Againsts," striving to have 87% of its Youth Union organizations strong and recommending 40-45 outstanding members for the Party to consider for Party membership in the 2025-2030 period. At the same time, the Youth Union is improving the effectiveness of its coordination with local authorities, promoting the pioneering and volunteer role of young people in mass mobilization work, environmental protection, search and rescue, and effectively implementing programs such as "Coast Guard Accompanying Fishermen," contributing to building a strong local political foundation.

Commending and congratulating the outstanding achievements of the Youth Union organizations and young people of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command during the past term, Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, emphasized that in the new phase, with the increasingly high demands of the task of protecting the sovereignty of the southwestern sea and islands of the Fatherland, the young people of Coast Guard Region 4 need to continue to inherit and promote the glorious traditions of previous generations, constantly learning, training, and innovating, worthy of being a reliable vanguard force of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command; thereby contributing to building a strong, comprehensive, "exemplary and outstanding" Coast Guard Region 4 Command, and successfully completing all assigned tasks.

During the period 2022-2025, the youth union work and youth movement of the 4th Coast Guard Region Command were comprehensively implemented, achieving high effectiveness and contributing to building a strong unit. The focus was on political and ideological education , ensuring that 100% of youth union members had a firm stance and felt secure in their work, through the thorough understanding of Party resolutions and the organization of creative thematic activities. The emulation movement was closely linked to political tasks, notably the campaign "Coast Guard Youth Cultivating Virtue, Developing Talent, Taking the Lead, and Being Creative," along with the effective implementation of models such as "Youth Self-Managed Technical Day" and the "I Love My Homeland's Sea and Islands" competition, attracting over 134,000 cadres, union members, and students to participate.

The work of building a strong Youth Union organization has been emphasized, actively creating a source for Party development, and recommending 92 outstanding young members for Party membership during the 2022-2025 period. In particular, the youth of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command have always been at the forefront of mass mobilization work through the "Coast Guard accompanying fishermen" program, actively participating in building new rural areas. They are also a leading force in carrying out patrol, control, and law enforcement tasks, combating smuggling, commercial fraud, illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and conducting search and rescue operations at sea, contributing to spreading the positive image of the Ho Chi Minh's soldiers – the Coast Guard soldiers of the new era.
