This measure was taken as a precaution, although the company has not recorded any cases of fire or explosion related to its power banks in Vietnam.
The four power bank models subject to recall include: Anker 10,000 mAh 22.5 W (product code A1257); Anker 20,000 mAh 22.5 W with integrated USB-C cable (product code A1647); Anker Zolo 20,000 mAh 30W with integrated USB-C and Lightning cables (product code A1681); and Anker Zolo 20,000 mAh 30W with integrated USB-C cable (product code A1689).

These products are widely distributed through authorized electronics retailers and e-commerce platforms in Vietnam. There is currently no specific information on the number of products that will be recalled in this batch.
To check if your power bank is subject to a recall, you can compare the product number printed on the bottom edge of the device. If you own a recalled power bank, you should immediately contact the supplier or retailer for instructions on how to recall or exchange the product.
Anker advises users not to continue using recalled power banks. Instead, the product should be stored in a plastic container, placed in a safe, easily visible location, and away from flammable materials to prevent potential accidents.

Anker is an electronics company based in Shenzhen, China, founded in 2011 and known as the world's number one brand for power banks.
The recall in Vietnam follows Anker's large-scale recalls in international markets. In mid-June, Anker recalled over 1.15 million power banks in the US market due to fire and explosion risks.
In the US, a total of 19 fires and explosions have been reported involving these products, resulting in some minor burns to users and estimated property damage of $60,700.
Last week, Anker, along with many other Chinese tech companies such as Xiaomi, Romoss, and Baseus, also simultaneously recalled several power bank models in the Chinese market for the same reason. These products were also found to be sold on e-commerce platforms in Vietnam.
The main reason for the mass recall of these power banks is that they use battery cells supplied by the American company Amprius.
According to China's 3C certification agency, the battery cells in the Amprius power bank pose a potential fire and explosion risk after prolonged use, especially when the device operates continuously, causing the battery temperature to rise.
However, to date, Anker is the only company that has officially announced a product recall in the Vietnamese market.
