Handing over the information board system and directional signs for visiting and learning about the history of Dien Bien Phu.

Ambassador Olivier Brochet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Vietnam, presented the emblem of the "Journey to Discover and Learn about the History of Dien Bien Phu" to Mr. Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The Dien Bien Phu Historical Tour project was proposed and funded by AFD. After more than a year of implementation, the components of the Dien Bien Phu Historical Tour route have been completed, totaling 40 items, including: a stone model of the entire tour route; 19 information boards introducing the destinations; 20 directional signs; and 225 ceramic markers guiding the way throughout the tour; and a booklet introducing the tour route in three languages: Vietnamese, English, and French.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Vietnam Olivier Brochet expressed his hope that the information boards and directional signs for visiting and learning about the history of Dien Bien Phu, once put into use, will help the people, tourists , especially foreign visitors, to have a more convenient experience when visiting and learning about the history of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield, as well as experiencing and exploring typical tourist destinations and natural landscapes of Dien Bien province.

Delegates visited the location where the information board was installed in the De Castries Bunker historical site.

At the program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do emphasized: In order for the Dien Bien Phu historical tour route to be put into operation effectively, serving tourists and contributing to promoting Dien Bien tourism, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take over and operate it. At the same time, he requested the Provincial Radio and Television Station, Dien Bien Phu Newspaper, and other news agencies and press in the province to continue strengthening the dissemination and introduction of the Dien Bien Phu historical tour route through mass media so that all citizens and domestic and international tourists are aware of it, contributing to attracting tourists to Dien Bien.
