Handing over the information board system, signposts for sightseeing and learning about the history of Dien Bien Phu

Mr. Olivier Brochet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam, presented the symbol of the Journey to Discover and Learn the History of Dien Bien Phu to Comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The Dien Bien Phu Historical Tour Project was proposed and sponsored by AFD. After more than 1 year of implementation, up to now, the items of the Dien Bien Phu Historical Tour have been completed with a total of 40 items including: 1 stone model of the entire tour route; 19 information boards introducing destinations, 20 direction signs and 225 porcelain markers throughout the entire tour, a small book introducing the tour in 3 languages: Vietnamese, English, French.

Speaking at the program, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam Olivier Brochet hoped that the system of information boards and signs for sightseeing and learning about the history of Dien Bien Phu, once put into use, would help people, tourists , especially foreign tourists when coming to Dien Bien Phu, to have more convenience in the process of visiting and learning about the history of Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Relics as well as experiencing and exploring typical tourist destinations and natural landscapes of Dien Bien province.

At the Program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do emphasized: In order for the tour route to learn about the history of Dien Bien Phu to be put into operation effectively, serving tourists, contributing to promoting Dien Bien tourism, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to receive and operate. At the same time, it is requested that the units of the Provincial Radio and Television Station, Dien Bien Phu Newspaper and news agencies and newspapers in the province continue to strengthen propaganda work, introduce the tour route to learn about the history of Dien Bien Phu on mass media so that all people, tourists at home and abroad know, contributing to attracting tourists to Dien Bien.
