Specifically, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Tropical Depression 94W has become the 11th storm in the Philippines, moving into the country's waters on the morning of October 21. PAGASA said the tropical storm has the local name "Kristine". This is the 11th storm in the Philippines in the 2024 storm season.

Typhoon Kristine was 1,050km southeast of Luzon, as of 5am on October 21, with maximum winds of 55km/h near the center with gusts of up to 70km/h.

Meteorological experts predict that around October 24, the storm is likely to enter the northern East Sea area.

Meanwhile, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently (October 21), in the North, a cold air mass is moving south.

Around the afternoon of October 22, this cold air mass will affect the mountainous areas of the Northeast, then affect other places in the Northeast, North Central, some places in the Northwest and North Central. Wind inland will strengthen to level 3, coastal areas level 4-5.

During this cold spell, the weather in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will turn cooler; from the night of October 23, the night and morning will be cold, especially in the mountainous areas of the North, the night and morning will be cold. The lowest temperature in the North is generally 19-21 degrees, in the mountainous areas 17-19 degrees, in the high mountainous areas in some places below 16 degrees; in Thanh Hoa-Nghe An, the lowest temperature is generally 20-23 degrees.

At sea: from the night of October 22, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind will gradually increase to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9; the sea will be rough; waves will be 1.5-2.5m high. In the North East Sea, the Northeast wind will increase to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9; the sea will be rough; waves will be 2.5-4.5m high.

Due to the impact of the cold air, in the afternoon and night of October 22, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the North and Thanh Hoa. From the night of October 22 to October 23, in the area from Nghe An to Binh Dinh, there will be rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
