Electronic medical records reduce medical errors by 20%

Saint Paul General Hospital (Hanoi) has just held a ceremony to celebrate its 105th anniversary, 55th anniversary of merger (August 26, 1970 - August 26, 2025) and received the First Class Labor Medal.

On this occasion, Dr. Nguyen Duc Long, Director of Xanh Pon General Hospital, said that in addition to professional achievements, the hospital has focused on digital transformation. Many typical applications and features have been successfully implemented at the hospital such as: AI application in medical examination and treatment, in diagnostic imaging, digestive endoscopy, facial recognition for patient reception, digitalization of contract health examination process, clinical decision support system... Digital transformation has brought high efficiency such as: implementing electronic medical records to replace paper medical records (100%), reducing insurance payment errors by 10 times; reducing printing, management and storage of paper (90%); increasing work efficiency by 20%, reducing medical errors by 20% and reducing patient waiting time by 30%. The hospital is currently focusing on investing in facilities and equipment infrastructure to become a smart hospital by 2026.
