Border guards give gifts to students before the new school year

DNO - On September 3 and 4, the Da Nang Port Border Guard Command (Da Nang City Border Guard) organized a gift-giving ceremony for sponsored students under the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of border guards" on the occasion of the new school year.

Accordingly, the Border Guard Command of Da Nang Port awarded 6 gifts including cash and school supplies; and mobilized benefactors to give gifts to 6 students sponsored under the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of border guards".

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Hai Chau Ward (Da Nang City) presented meaningful gifts to 6 students sponsored by the Da Nang Port Border Guard Command.

It is known that from 2016 to present, the Border Guard Command of Da Nang port has sponsored 7 students with especially difficult circumstances in Thanh Binh ward, Thuan Phuoc (old), now Hai Chau ward with a budget of nearly 18 million VND/year.

These are students with good conduct and good academic performance, including one who graduated from high school and passed the entrance exam to the University of Technology (University of Danang).

Lieutenant Colonel Van Duc Truong, Political Commissar of the Border Guard Command of Da Nang Port, said that recently, officers and soldiers in the unit have saved their salaries, allowances, increased production, raised funds, etc. to contribute monthly with the aim of helping disadvantaged students in the area have more determination to rise up, become good children, good students, and be useful to society.
