Border guards give gifts to students before the new school year

DNO - On September 3 and 4, the Da Nang Port Border Guard Command (Da Nang City Border Guard) organized a gift-giving ceremony for sponsored students under the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of border guards" on the occasion of the new school year.

Accordingly, the Da Nang Port Border Guard Command presented 6 gifts including cash and school supplies; and mobilized benefactors to donate gifts to 6 students who are being sponsored under the "Helping Children Go to School - Children Adopted by Border Guard Posts" program.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Hai Chau Ward (Da Nang City) presented meaningful gifts to 6 students who are being sponsored by the Border Guard Command of Da Nang Port.

It is known that from 2016 to the present, the Border Guard Command of Da Nang Port has sponsored 7 students with particularly difficult circumstances in Thanh Binh and Thuan Phuoc wards (formerly), now Hai Chau ward, with an annual budget of nearly 18 million VND.

These are students with good conduct and excellent academic performance, including one who graduated from high school and passed the entrance exam to the University of Technology (Da Nang University).

Lieutenant Colonel Van Duc Truong, Political Commissar of the Da Nang Port Border Guard Command, said that in recent times, officers and soldiers in the unit have saved their salaries and allowances, increased production, and contributed monthly to fundraise aimed at helping disadvantaged students in the area to have more motivation to strive, become good children and good students, and be useful to society.
