Ministry of Industry and Trade appoints Director of Legal Department

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien presided over the ceremony to announce and present the appointment decision for the Director of the Legal Department.

Specifically, according to Decision No. 3269/QD-BCT dated December 12, 2024, on the appointment of the Director of the Legal Department, Mr. Ngo Duc Minh – Deputy Director in charge of the Legal Department – ​​is appointed as Director of the Legal Department and receives a leadership allowance with a coefficient of 1.0.

Speaking at the ceremony announcing and presenting the appointment decision for the Director of the Legal Department, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that Mr. Ngo Duc Minh is a young official who has matured and affirmed his position early on through various positions such as: Deputy Head of Lawmaking Division I, Legal Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Deputy Director of the Legal Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Vice Chairman of the National Competition Commission, Deputy Director in charge of the Legal Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“ Having received thorough training and held positions related to legal affairs, I hope and believe that Comrade Ngo Duc Minh will utilize his abilities and strengths to successfully complete the assigned tasks, ” – Minister Nguyen Hong Dien expressed his expectations.

The Party and the State have unanimously affirmed that the country is entering a new era – an era of national progress. Therefore, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien clearly stated that all the work of the Industry and Trade sector is placed in the new context, accelerating and accelerating. To accelerate, institutional reform is necessary. “ The Industry and Trade sector has a mission and an important role in the country's economy . The development of the sector is linked to the economy, and the completion of legal and institutional frameworks is crucial, ” the Minister affirmed.

In 2024, the Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Industry and Trade had made many efforts in institutional building and creating a legal framework for state management activities. Specifically, the Ministry advised the Party and the State to enact the amended Electricity Law, which has basically resolved obstacles and bottlenecks in the energy sector; and restarted the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project… Therefore, the Minister requested that Mr. Ngo Duc Minh and the colleagues in the Legal Department make even greater efforts, working together with the Ministry's units to successfully complete the assigned tasks. At the same time, the Minister expressed his hope and confidence that Mr. Ngo Duc Minh would leverage his role to help the Ministry complete its assigned tasks.

Responding to the Minister's directives, Mr. Ngo Duc Minh expressed his honor and emotion upon receiving the appointment decision as Director of the Legal Department. He also thanked the Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for their continued attention to legal work.

The Legal Department has a tradition of over 40 years of operation and development. Since 2008 – the time he took on the role at the Legal Department – ​​Comrade Ngo Duc Minh has been guided and mentored by successive generations of leaders of the Legal Department. Looking ahead, according to Comrade Ngo Duc Minh, the legal work and tasks will be extremely demanding; therefore, the entire Legal Department is aware of its responsibility to the Ministry and its units, and to the overall work of the sector.

The new Director of the Legal Department pledged to work together with the collective leadership and staff of the Legal Department to implement and successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Ministry's leadership; and committed to coordinating well with units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade within the scope and functions of the Legal Department to carry out and complete the assigned tasks.

The Legal Department is an organization under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, performing the function of advising and assisting the Minister of Industry and Trade in managing state affairs through law in the industry and trade sector, including: organizing the work of drafting, appraising, reviewing, systematizing, inspecting, and consolidating legal normative documents; codifying the system of legal normative documents; disseminating legal education; monitoring the implementation of laws and regulations in the industry and trade sector as prescribed by law.
