Singer Vu Thuy Linh brings folk music to HOZO 2024

(Dan Tri) - Singer Vu Thuy Linh will perform at the Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival - HOZO 2024 and bring folk songs, quan ho, chau van... to the audience.

Vu Thuy Linh has just released the album "Tơ đồng thanh thot", which bears the strong imprint of Vietnamese culture. The album includes 4 famous Vietnamese folk songs: Lung lieng (Bac Ninh quan ho), Cong cha ngai me sinh sanh (Xam singing), Luyen nam cung (Cheo singing), Chau Nam suo Lan (Chầu văn).

Through the skillful mixing and arrangement of musician Luu Quang Minh, the album seems to put on a new coat, both familiar and new, youthful, with a strong Gen Z color.

To complete this musical product, Vu Thuy Linh spent a lot of time learning to sing from artists such as People's Artist Thanh Ngoan or People's Artist Thuy Huong.

Vu Thuy Linh also confirmed that she will perform on the opening night of the Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival - HOZO Super Fest 2024 (December 13), sharing the same performance night with HIEUTHUHAI and international star Henry Lau.

At this event, the Gen Z singer will bring new songs from the album to convey the traditional values ​​of the nation to the audience. The singer shared: "This is a great honor, a memorable milestone for me on my artistic journey. But this means I have to be confident to be able to perform my best in front of thousands of audiences."

Through this stage, the female singer hopes to spread new folk melodies and traditional music to the audience, helping them get closer to traditional national values.

Vu Thuy Linh passed the entrance exam to the Faculty of Music Education of the Military University of Culture and Arts with the highest score in her major. After graduating from university, she continued to study for a Master's degree in Music Teaching Theory and Methodology.

Vu Thuy Linh's family does not have a tradition of art, but from a young age, she had a passion for music. Belonging to the Gen Z generation, Vu Thuy Linh has a special affection for folk songs, imbued with Vietnamese national traditions.

The singer confided: "Linh loves Vietnamese folk melodies and wants to do something to bring these melodies closer to young people, thereby joining hands to preserve and promote traditional Vietnamese cultural values."
