During her official visit to the Republic of Mozambique, on the afternoon of September 11th, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with the Chairperson of the Maputo City Council and member of the Politburo of the ruling Frelimo Party, Eneas Comiche, at the Maputo City Council headquarters.
The Vice President emphasized that Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, has deep ties with Vietnam, being home to the Ho Chi Minh Boulevard, a vivid symbol of the solidarity and enduring friendship between the two nations; it is also the place with the largest concentration of the Vietnamese community in Mozambique.
In terms of economic cooperation, Maputo is also home to the headquarters of the Movitel telecommunications joint venture, a prime example of economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Chairman of the Maputo City Council expressed his pleasure at having the opportunity to welcome Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, and hoped that Maputo and Hanoi, as well as other localities of Vietnam, would strengthen cooperation in potential areas, contributing to deepening the good cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Mozambique.
Both sides agreed to strengthen the exchange of delegations, deepening bilateral cooperation in a substantive and effective manner; sharing experiences in building the capital city in an innovative and modern direction, and sharing experiences in urban management and urban environment.
The Vice President suggested that, building on their similarities, Maputo and Hanoi, as well as other Vietnamese localities, should strengthen the exchange of information on cooperation opportunities in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, culture, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges.

Following the meeting, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the Chairperson of the Maputo City Council jointly attended the unveiling ceremony of the new street sign and laid a wreath at Ho Chi Minh Avenue.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President expressed his emotion and nostalgia as he recalled the warm history of relations between the two countries when the first President of the independent Republic of Mozambique named one of the most beautiful avenues in the capital Maputo after President Ho Chi Minh in 1977.
Ho Chi Minh Boulevard has become a symbol of the historical bond and genuine affection between generations of leaders of the Vietnamese and Mozambican Parties and States.

Chairman Eneas Comiche expressed pride and honor that the capital city of Maputo has an avenue named after President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader and national hero of Vietnam.
The inauguration of the new street sign for Ho Chi Minh Boulevard by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan is a significant event, encouraging people of both countries, especially the younger generation, to inherit, preserve, and promote the fine traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mozambique.

Also on the afternoon of September 11th, the Vice President visited the Movitel telecommunications joint venture headquarters in Mozambique and held a working meeting with the company's leaders and employees.
