TPO - Medical universities have begun announcing their 2025 enrollment plans with many new points.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has announced its enrollment quotas and admission methods for the 2025 regular program.

Accordingly, in 2025 the school plans to adjust and increase the enrollment quotas for some majors compared to 2024: Traditional Medicine by 20%; Nursing by 10%; Pharmacy by 30%. The remaining majors will not see an increase in quotas.

Regarding admission methods, the school plans to implement six admission methods, including: high school graduation exam results; direct admission according to the regulations of the admission rules; using the results of aptitude and thinking assessment exams organized by other units for admission; using only international certificates for admission; combining high school graduation exam results with international certificates for admission; and using other methods.

A new feature in the 2025 admissions season is that the university will no longer include a foreign language subject as a supplementary criterion when considering equal scores, unlike in previous years. The subject combinations for admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores remain unchanged, including B00 (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology), A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), and B03 (Mathematics, Biology, Literature).

In 2024, the university will recruit 1,530 students through a nationwide selection process. The cutoff scores based on the 2024 high school graduation exam results range from 21.35 to 26.57 points, with the highest score in the Medical program.

From 2025, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University , Hanoi will apply an additional admission method for students who already have a university degree in Medicine and Pharmacy. For these students, the Medicine program will be 4 years long, while the Pharmacy program will be 3 years long.

The admission cutoff score for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2024 ranged from 24.49 to 27.15 points.

In 2025, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Hue University will maintain the same admission methods as the previous year, and will consider expanding the methods in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as the needs of society.

Regarding admission combinations, in addition to the combinations from 2024, the university will expand the number of combinations for all training programs. Simultaneously, English and subjects from the Natural Sciences group (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) will be included in the admission combinations for some programs.

Regarding enrollment targets, the school maintains the same targets as previous years to ensure and improve training quality.

In 2024, the entrance exam scores for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Hue University ranged from 15 to 26.3 depending on the major.

2025: Adjustments to regulations on input quality assurance thresholds.

In the draft revised regulations for university and college admissions in early childhood education, the Ministry of Education and Training plans to raise the minimum quality standards for admission to teacher training and medical/pharmaceutical programs that grant professional practice certificates.

Specifically, from 2025 onwards, applicants for these majors must have academic results of "good" or higher in all three years of high school, or a graduation exam score of 8 or higher.

Some majors are applied with lower floor level such as: Physical Education, Music Pedagogy, Fine Arts Pedagogy, Preschool Education at college level and majors such as Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Midwifery, Dental Prosthetics, Medical Testing Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Technology. Candidates need to have good academic results in all three years of high school or a graduation score of 6.5 or higher.

If high school academic results are used for admission, then the candidate's academic results for the entire 12th grade year must be used.

Universities can use an unlimited number of subject combinations for admissions instead of the current four, but they will be restricted by the required scores for each subject.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requires schools to use the academic results of the entire 12th grade year instead of using scores from 3 to 5 semesters as is currently the case. If this plan is approved, universities will no longer be able to select students based on academic transcripts and announce cutoff scores from March as they do now.
