After 30 years of formation and development (1995-2025), Le Quy Don Secondary School (Minh Xuan ward) has become a "red address" of the education sector of Tuyen Quang province.

Le Quy Don Secondary School was established in 1995 with the predecessor being Tuyen Quang Town Specialized Secondary School, later Le Quy Don Gifted School. Right from the beginning, the school's mission was clearly defined, focusing on nurturing and developing talents. Although in 2009 it was officially named Le Quy Don Secondary School and directly under the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang City, the core function of "a key school of Tuyen Quang province with the task of nurturing excellent students" was still maintained and strongly promoted.
Over the past three decades, with the attention and investment in building spacious and modern facilities and a team of dedicated staff and teachers, the school has created an educational environment with consistent input quality, ideal for comprehensive development. The clearest evidence is that the school has been recognized as a National Standard School Level 2 (school year 2022-2023), affirming the relentless efforts in the work of standardizing and modernizing education.
The achievements of Le Quy Don Secondary School are most clearly and convincingly demonstrated through the educational quality indicators, which any educational institution would dream of. On average, every year, the percentage of students in the whole school achieving Good and Excellent academic performance accounts for over 98%; of which, Good academic performance accounts for over 58%. This is an extraordinary achievement, reflecting the uniformity and superiority of students' academic ability.
Every year, the school ranks number one in both quality and quantity of excellent secondary school students in the province. In the last 10 years alone (up to April 2025), the school's students have won a total of more than 3,000 awards at all levels, including: 2,038 excellent students at the city level, 877 excellent students at the provincial level, and 58 excellent students at the regional and national levels. These numbers demonstrate the correct and effective strategy for nurturing excellent students.
The rate of 9th grade students passing the entrance exam to Tuyen Quang Specialized High School each year reaches from 68% to 81% of the students taking the exam. This is an outstandingly high rate, far exceeding the planned target (65%), affirming the province's role as a source of key talents for higher education.
In addition to academic achievements, the school also focuses on moral education and life skills. The rate of students achieving Good and Excellent training is nearly 100%. Along with extracurricular and volunteer activities such as the "Warm Tet Love" movement (supporting more than 115 million VND in 2025), the Union maintains the title of "Strong Union at the provincial level" and wins national awards such as the Kim Dong Award and the National Dien Bien Young Soldier.
Vision of the future
To achieve these record achievements, Le Quy Don Secondary School has persistently implemented solutions to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training. The core strategy is to innovate teaching methods, testing and assessment in the direction of developing students' capacity and promoting the application of information technology.
The school encourages 100% of staff and teachers to self-study, self-train, and effectively apply advanced teaching methods, especially teaching on STEM education topics. In the period 2021-2025, the school has developed 97 electronic lectures, more than 200 online topics, organized 5 STEM Festivals and won high prizes in Science and Technology competitions.
The quality of the teaching staff is also a highlight. In the 2026-2020 and 2021-2025 periods, the school has 50 teachers recognized as Emulation Fighters at the provincial and grassroots levels. Notably, 1 teacher was awarded the title of Outstanding Citizen of Tuyen Quang Province in 2024, 1 individual was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Education and Training, and 7 excellent teachers at the provincial level. Every year, the percentage of teachers who are excellent at teaching at the school level is over 90%.
In recognition of its outstanding contributions and achievements over the past 30 years, Le Quy Don Secondary School was honored to receive the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals from the President; received 1 Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister and many Certificates of Merit and Emulation Flags from the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province.
The Party cell has achieved the title of "Exemplary Clean and Strong" for many consecutive years.
Entering a new development phase, the school clearly identified the key direction as continuing to improve the quality of comprehensive education, effectively implementing the 2018 General Education Program; promoting digital transformation in management and teaching.
