The suspension bridge was washed away by floodwaters, cutting off the only road into the village.

In Tuong Duong commune alone, after just one night, 3 suspension bridges were swept away by the flood. Of these, the suspension bridges of Ban Chan and Ban Mac are important, connecting the people of 4 Ban Mac, Lau, Nhan and Chan from the other side of Lam River to the center of Tuong Duong commune. The only road to the village was cut off, so for more than 10 days, nearly 400 households in these 4 villages have had to depend on relief shipments transported by motorboat across Lam River.

According to Tuong Duong Commune Secretary Le Van Luong, the commune has proposed that the province support vehicles to set up two ferry terminals to serve essential goods and the daily needs of people in four isolated villages.
