Hiep Thanh distributed more than 33 tons of rice as emergency aid to more than 500 households in flood-affected areas.

On the afternoon of December 4, the People's Committee of Hiep Thanh commune organized an emergency rice distribution to households affected by floods in the area. The rice distribution was carried out simultaneously at 3 locations: Tan An village, Dinh An village and Hiep Thanh commune Cultural House.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hiep Thanh commune, said that this time, 534 households with a total of 2,196 people affected by floods received rice support.

Each person will receive 15 kg of rice. The total amount of relief rice is 33 tons, including 30 tons taken from the national rice reserve and 3 tons mobilized from socialization.

In addition to rice, the locality also provides cash and school supplies to residents and students. Specifically, 210 households with 881 affected people will receive a subsidy of VND300,000 per person.

In addition, 53 students affected by floods will be supported with books and school supplies worth 400,000 VND/student; at the same time, 639 households with heavy crop damage will also receive support from the province's Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Fund with a total budget of more than 1.5 billion VND.
