The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a warning of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow in the provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien , Son La, and Lao Cai, and a weather forecast for the next 10 days.

Accordingly, in the past 6 hours (from 4am to 10am on September 22), in the provinces of Lai Chau , Dien Bien and Lao Cai, there was moderate to heavy rain such as: Nam Cuoi 91.4mm (Lai Chau); Muong Dun 51mm (Dien Bien); Kim Son 40.4mm (Lao Cai),...

Many areas in Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, and Lao Cai provinces have warnings of the risk of flash floods and landslides.

It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, in Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La and Lao Cai provinces, there will continue to be rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 20-40mm, in some places over 80mm, with a very high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in the above provinces, especially the following districts:

Lai Chau: Muong Te, Sin Ho, Phong Tho, Nam Nhun, Tam Duong, Tan Uyen, Than Uyen, Lai Chau City.

Dien Bien: Muong Nhe, Nam Po, Muong Cha, Tua Chua, Tuan Giao, Muong Ang, Muong Lay Town.

Son La: Quynh Nhai, Muong La, Thuan Chau. Son La City.

Lao Cai: Bao Thang, Bao Yen, Bac Ha, Sa Pa Town, Bat Xat, Lao Cai City, Van Ban.

The meteorological agency also warned that flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

Also in the latest bulletin of the meteorological agency, the weather forecast for the sea, day and night of September 22, in the South East Sea area, the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 7-8.

Northern, Northern and Central Central regions, in the late afternoon and at night there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny during the day, hot in some places.

South Central, Central Highlands and South, in the late afternoon and at night there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Central Highlands and South from September 24-25, in the afternoon and evening there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.
