Couple died after eating mushroom soup picked in the forest

(NLDO)- While picking mushrooms in the forest to cook soup, a couple in Thanh Hoa had a bout of vomiting due to eating poisonous mushrooms and died after many days of treatment at the hospital.

On the evening of March 14, news from the People's Committee of Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province said that a couple had just died from eating poisonous mushrooms picked in the forest.

There are many cases of death from eating poisonous mushrooms due to taking mushrooms from the forest for cooking.

According to initial information, on the morning of March 3, Mr. LVT (born in 1968) and his wife, Mrs. HTH (born in 1971, residing in Co Cai village, Trung Ly commune, Muong Lat district) went into the forest to get wild banana trees to feed the pigs.

While getting bananas for the pigs, Mr. T and his wife saw wild mushrooms (small, white) so they picked them to cook soup.

However, after eating, Mr. T. and his wife vomited a lot, so their relatives quickly took them to Muong Lat District General Hospital for emergency treatment. Determining that the victims had eaten poisonous mushrooms and suffered severe poisoning, Muong Lat District General Hospital transferred both of them to Thanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital for treatment.

However, due to severe poisoning, the couple was transferred to Bach Mai Hospital for further treatment. However, both patients died on March 9.
