The President of the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI), Erick Thohir, expressed his condolences regarding the incident: "I extend my deepest condolences to the victim's family. I was present to meet with the family. May the deceased rest in peace and may the family find strength."

Erick also urged all Indonesian football fans to always pay attention to their personal health before attending matches at the stadium.

PSSI also advised fans to pay attention to their health before attending matches. Spectators with congenital diseases or a history of medical conditions should consider watching the team on television and digital platforms instead of attending the stadium in person.

People with specific health conditions should also consult their doctor before attending crowded events.

According to PSSI, medical services at the stadium are always ensured through coordination with the city of Surabaya, with the establishment of eight stations staffed by doctors and medical personnel on standby to handle emergencies.

In addition, all spectators who purchased tickets to watch the national team were covered by life insurance from PSSI's official partner. The families of the victims will also receive these insurance benefits.
