Inspiring ideals
Do Tran Minh Anh (born in 2003), a student at the People's Police Academy, was born and raised in a family with a rich revolutionary tradition. Since childhood, Minh Anh has always heard her mother tell stories about her maternal grandfather, who joined the army at the age of 13 during the pre-revolutionary period and served in both the resistance wars against France and the United States.
"He didn't hesitate to volunteer for the resistance, even knowing that the road ahead was full of difficulties and dangers. My mother said that he joined the army at a very young age, when he still had many dreams, but he clearly understood his duty was to protect the country, to protect the values of freedom and independence for the nation," Minh Anh recalled.
Therefore, stories about dedicated, courageous, and self-sacrificing soldiers and police officers who protect security and order and bring peace to the people have inspired Minh Anh's ideals. "Since then, I have always dreamed of and remained steadfast on my journey to becoming a police officer ," the young man said.
Even as a high school student, Minh Anh passed the entrance exam to the specialized high school for natural sciences with top marks and won second prize in the national mathematics competition for 11th and 12th graders... Thanks to these achievements, the male student was offered direct admission to many universities. However, Minh Anh was determined to study for the entrance exam for 3 months and was admitted to the People's Police Academy .

Some of Minh Anh's notable achievements include:
- Second prize in the 2022 Informatics Olympiad for Non-Specialized Students;
- Third prize in the 2023 Informatics Olympiad for Specialized Schools;
- First prize in the 2023 International Programmer Competition (ICPC) Asia- Pacific region;
- Outstanding Student at the Central level in 2023;
- Second prize in the National Science and Technology Award for Higher Education Institutions 2024;
- First Prize in the 2024 Academy-level Student Scientific Research Competition;
- Asian police student scientific research exchange in Thailand in 2024;
- Outstanding Young Police Officer of 2024 .

Develop courage and decisiveness.
Having studied and trained in a unique environment, Minh Anh felt the strictness and high discipline, which helped him develop his character in a profound way.
"Discipline is not only in work and studies, but also in every daily action, from punctuality and work methods to attitudes towards colleagues, teammates, and teachers. All of these contribute to shaping me into a resilient, responsible, and highly self-disciplined person," Minh Anh said.
Through training sessions, practical workshops, and professional activities, the male students learned how to work under high pressure, develop decisiveness, and improve their ability to quickly resolve situations.
The strict requirements regarding punctuality, demeanor, and attire, along with the constant adherence to rules, not only helped me develop discipline but also fostered a meticulous and precise work ethic, and a readiness to face challenges.
In particular, self-discipline has instilled in Minh Anh a highly effective self-learning spirit. "Self-discipline helps me organize my study time effectively, proactively search for materials, solve problems independently, and maintain perseverance throughout the learning process. Besides that, self-discipline also helps me proactively evaluate my learning outcomes, develop research plans, and thus develop a strong self-learning spirit," Minh Anh said.
Every evening, the male student spends at least 3 hours researching and studying, sometimes staying up until 3 am. Instead of panicking, he tries to break down the work into smaller parts to tackle.
Minh Anh added: "Whenever I feel stressed, I remind myself to persevere and stay strong, because I know that calmness and problem-solving skills will help me overcome any difficulties."

In addition to her professional achievements and scientific research, Minh Anh also served as a liaison officer for the annual International Conference (GAAM 8) of the Asian Association of Police Training Institutions (APTA); participated in writing an essay on the topic "Cultivating Ethics and Integrity for the Younger Generation of Law Enforcement Officers in Southeast Asia" organized by UNODC in 2024; and attended a training course on collecting, preserving, and using electronic data as evidence in the investigation of human trafficking crimes in Vietnam...
