According to Lieutenant General Oleshchuk, not only the American A-10 aircraft but also the French Dassault Mirage aircraft may be deployed to Ukraine.
Commander Oleshchuk emphasized that, along with F-16 fighter jets, MiG-29 aircraft will also operate in Ukrainian airspace. Mirage-2000D aircraft will enhance the combat capabilities of Su-34M bombers, while A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft will support Su-25 attack aircraft.
The head of the Ukrainian Air Force said that Kyiv is currently prioritizing training pilots to become proficient in using F-16 fighter jets, while Ukrainian experts are also studying other options to enhance the overall combat capabilities of the air force.
The Mirage 2000 is a French fourth-generation, single-engine, multirole jet fighter.
In September 2023, during talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had reached "a very important agreement on training Ukrainian pilots in France."
