At the recent International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Semiconductors (AISC Vietnam 2025), Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT , said that if many years ago, Vietnam was almost unknown on the world technology map, now we have become the cradle of high-quality human resources.
Vietnam currently has 1 million IT engineers, half of whom are in software, who can be converted to AI and are aiming to convert into 1 million AI experts.
According to FPT Chairman, in the goal of training 1 million AI human resources in Vietnam, FPT commits to converting and training 500,000 people.
Currently, Vietnam is aiming to train 50,000 semiconductor workers by 2030 and will move towards hundreds of thousands of workers in the future.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT, shared at the AISC Vietnam 2025 event.
In the context of the world and Vietnam investing in semiconductor human resource training, FPT committed to training 5,000 people by 2030 and currently has 1,600 students studying semiconductors.
In recent times, more than a dozen leading universities have quickly opened training programs on AI and semiconductors. Mr. Binh revealed that they have prepared a force for a new generation of experts, integrating into the global technology flow.
This is a "gold mine" waiting for international businesses to exploit. Vietnam is emerging as one of the countries with the most advanced AI infrastructure in the world, with recent strong progress.
FPT affirms that Vietnamese AI is different thanks to its speed. In Japan, FPT owns GPU H200 to help improve computing speed and FPT will continue to invest heavily.
At FPT, 8,000 programmers are writing code with their own AI assistant. Previously, programmers used to spend hours writing, testing and optimizing source code.
According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, FPT is expanding the scope of AI applications to the world, providing advanced AI solutions to Pertamina - Indonesia's leading oil and gas group, cooperating in AI development with KMP Aryadhana - Indonesia's largest innovation ecosystem, and establishing an AI research lab with the National University of Singapore.
