At the conference, looking back at the activities of the XV National Assembly Women Deputies Group, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, Chairwoman of the XV National Assembly Women Deputies Group Nguyen Thuy Anh emphasized that, together with the entire National Assembly, female National Assembly deputies have demonstrated steadfastness, sharp intelligence and kind hearts, making important contributions to the work of legislation, supervision and passing of decisions that determine the fate of the country.
Speaking at the conference, delegates said that female National Assembly members are increasingly asserting their role and voice in the activities of the National Assembly. The activities of female National Assembly members are not only limited to the social field or gender equality, but have expanded and demonstrated their mettle in key and complex issues of political - economic - social life, macroeconomics, finance - budget, land, national defense - security and foreign affairs.
The National Assembly's activities continue to be a "great school" for female deputies to grow and mature; many comrades have been entrusted by the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front with new responsibilities at the central and local levels.
In particular, social and volunteer activities have left a very good image of the Women's National Assembly Deputies Group of the 15th Term. The group has proactively organized or coordinated and participated in "giving thanks and repaying kindness" activities, social security activities, supporting women and children during and after the Covid-19 pandemic and in particularly difficult areas such as organizing "Zero-VND Markets" and providing health check-ups for policy beneficiaries.
The Group has strengthened and expanded its relationship with relevant agencies and organizations, the Vietnam Women's Union, the National Committee for the Advancement of Women, the Children's Support Fund, and spread it to male delegates in the National Assembly, closely coordinated and received support from agencies of the National Assembly, delegations of National Assembly deputies, and local leaders in organizing the Group's activities and gender equality work, spreading the Group's organizational model and activities to People's Councils and established exchanges and sharing of operational experiences.
The group has actively participated in parliamentary foreign affairs activities such as: forums of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Asia-Pacific Parliamentarians' Forum, the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly; actively participated in organizing multilateral parliamentary forums in Vietnam.
Speaking at the Conference, on behalf of the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated the Group of Women National Assembly Deputies of the 15th Term for their active and enthusiastic activities and achievements, leaving many marks during their term.
The National Assembly Chairwoman hopes that female deputies of the 15th National Assembly who will not be re-elected, regardless of their positions, will continue to contribute to the National Assembly so that it can continuously grow, effectively promote its role and functions of constitution-making, legislation, supreme supervision, and deciding on important issues of the country.
For the female delegates re-elected for the 16th term, the National Assembly Chairwoman hopes that they will continue to promote the valuable experiences they have accumulated during the 15th term to better fulfill their role as representatives of the people.
The National Assembly Chairwoman believes that during the 16th tenure, the proportion of female National Assembly deputies will reach the set target; she hopes that female National Assembly deputies of the 15th tenure, based on their practical experience, will pay attention to, support, and share with female candidates for the 16th tenure knowledge and skills in building action programs, election campaigns, and parliamentary activities.
In preparation for the 16th National Assembly election, Chairwoman of the 15th National Assembly Women's Deputies Group Nguyen Thuy Anh said that, with the responsibility of their predecessors, the 15th National Assembly Women's Deputies Group will coordinate with relevant agencies to continue training and improving the capacity of female candidates; strive to achieve and exceed the target of at least 30% female National Assembly deputies in the next term, contributing to increasing women's participation in the highest state power body.
Group Chairwoman Nguyen Thuy Anh believes that, whether re-elected or transferred to a new position, or returning to normal life, the sense of responsibility and enthusiastic hearts of the female National Assembly deputies of the XVth tenure will forever be a bright flame, continuing to contribute to the development of the country and the progress of Vietnamese women. The exciting days in the activities of National Assembly deputies, the good and warm feelings, the solidarity and attachment between female National Assembly deputies, the care, encouragement, motivation and inspiration of the leaders and former leaders will forever be precious memories and a source of motivation for each female deputy in the journey ahead.
