Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc: Focus on removing difficulties, bringing the Ring Road 2.5 project to the finish line soon

On the afternoon of December 9, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc chaired a meeting with relevant agencies and units to remove difficulties and obstacles in implementing the Ring Road 2.5 project.

The Ring Road 2.5 is 19.41km long, with a cross-section of 40-50m, starting at the Thanh Tri Bridge approach road and ending at Phu Thuong Ward. The project started many years ago but has not yet been completed.

According to the review, the entire route is divided into 13 sections. Of which, 7.6km has been invested according to the plan, 9.36km is being implemented and the remaining 2.45km has not been studied for investment. The biggest difficulty at present lies in the site clearance work, related to 5 sections being implemented and 3 sections not yet implemented.

Beltway 2.5 plays a vital role in the capital's traffic system, connecting inner-city districts from Phu Thuong to Linh Nam, forming a closed traffic circle to help distribute vehicle loads and reduce pressure on Beltway 2 and Beltway 3. The route not only promotes socio -economic development but is also a key solution to reduce traffic congestion in Hanoi.

Completing the remaining sections will help synchronize infrastructure, shorten travel time, limit rush hour congestion and improve air quality. In the context of Hanoi's rapid urbanization, Ring Road 2.5 is an important factor for the city to achieve its goal of infrastructure breakthrough and reduce congestion, one of the five bottlenecks that Hanoi is focusing on removing.

At the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc chaired discussions with relevant units and localities, focusing on separating and clarifying each difficulty and problem that is affecting the project's progress, especially problems related to site clearance and investment preparation for new sections.

Concluding the conference, the City Party Secretary requested departments, branches and localities to clearly identify political responsibilities and focus wholeheartedly on removing difficulties to implement the project on schedule.

The City Party Secretary requested that agencies, units and localities must thoroughly carry out each task, especially in site clearance; at the same time, they must proactively conduct basic investigations, grasp the situation, propagate and mobilize people early.

At the same time, the City Party Secretary requested that city units make full use of existing mechanisms and policies to remove obstacles and ensure the legitimate rights of the people; determined to speed up the progress so that the project can be completed according to the set goals.

This is a key project of Hanoi, not only meaningful to the future development orientation of the capital but also meets the demands of the people's practical life, the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee emphasized. At the same time, it is required to mobilize the entire political system to participate, step up propaganda and campaign so that people share, support and accompany the city, contributing to bringing the project to the finish line on schedule.
