Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Pham Duc An talks about personnel work and housing policy

(NLDO) - At the meeting with voters, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Pham Duc An affirmed that he will review, train, and rearrange staff to serve better.

At the meeting with voters of Hai Chau, Hoa Cuong, Son Tra, An Hai and Thanh Khe wards on October 3 of the National Assembly Delegation of Da Nang City, Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Duc An spent a lot of time discussing personnel work in the two-level government model, housing policies for low-income people and office arrangement.

Regarding personnel work , Mr. An frankly acknowledged that in the process of implementing the two-level government, the allocation of human resources in some places is still inadequate, and some officials have not really met the requirements.

"The general spirit is to be close to the people, to resolve issues quickly. If a situation takes a long time to resolve, it is either due to the staff's style or their ability. The city will monitor, supervise, and take action," he emphasized.

According to Mr. An, the city is reviewing the staff, retraining them professionally, and transferring staff from departments and branches to localities lacking resources. The City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee are closely directing to ensure the quality of human resources. "We will specifically assess the requirements of each management field to arrange them appropriately, to better serve the people and businesses" - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said.

Regarding housing policy , Mr. An said that rising land and housing prices are putting great pressure on people, especially low-income groups. Recently, the city has implemented social housing programs and supported interest rates for buyers.

He emphasized that in the near future, there will be a policy to build houses using budget funds for rent. However, this needs a roadmap, because the budget must still prioritize infrastructure investment and socio -economic development.

He also said that controlling real estate prices is a very complicated issue, which will continue to be studied by the Central Government and the National Assembly . On the local side, the city will focus on expanding the social housing fund, finding mechanisms to help low-income people have easier access to housing.

Responding to voters about handling redundant headquarters, the Chairman of the City People's Committee said he is reviewing after implementing the two-level government model.

"The requirement is to ensure both working headquarters and avoiding waste. Unused headquarters will have to be resolved and their functions converted to serve more effectively," said Mr. An. The city will implement the spirit of compact, centralized arrangement, not fragmentation, creating favorable conditions for the activities of officials and serving the people.

This is the first time Mr. Pham Duc An has met with voters of Da Nang City after being assigned by the Secretariat to join the Standing Committee, hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and was elected by the City People's Council as Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City for the 2021-2026 term in early September.
