Officials from the Tuyen Quang City Electricity Company are educating residents on saving and using electricity safely.
Accordingly, to minimize the increase in electricity bills, even before the Lunar New Year of 2025, Tuyen Quang Power Company directed its subordinate power branches to focus on implementing many synchronized solutions in meter reading and electricity bill issuance; updating, monitoring, and answering all customer inquiries about electricity bills; and informing customers about the causes and current situation so that they can make reasonable and scientific adjustments to limit the increase in electricity bills in the following month.
Mr. Nguyen Gia Khanh, from Tan Quang ward (Tuyen Quang city), said that during the recent Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), his family and children who live far away gathered to celebrate with their family, and they used more electrical appliances, leading to potentially higher electricity bills compared to previous months. However, with guidance from electricity company staff on checking meter readings and electricity bills via the customer service app, and on how to choose and use electrical appliances, his family was able to control their monthly electricity consumption.
As for the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hau, residing in Lang Quan residential area, Yen Son town (Yen Son district), during the Lunar New Year holiday, they used household electrical appliances and decorative electrical equipment more frequently, leading to a higher electricity bill compared to previous months. However, with the support and guidance of electricity company officials in disseminating warnings about the potential increase in electricity bills, her family was able to control their monthly electricity consumption.

To avoid any confusion regarding electricity bills before, during, and after the Lunar New Year, Tuyen Quang Power Company has instructed its branches to review and check meter readings for customers with a sudden increase in electricity consumption compared to the previous month, and to be ready to assist customers in determining the cause.
Customers are advised to regularly check the wiring after their meter to promptly replace or repair any broken or damaged insulation, which can cause short circuits, safety hazards, and increased electricity bills; and to inspect and maintain electrical equipment before use. At the same time, the power company also provides recommendations on the reasons for high electricity bills during the Lunar New Year and cold weather with significantly dropped temperatures, so that people know how to save electricity appropriately for their families.
Mr. Tran Xuan Hao, Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Power Company, said that given the complex weather forecast for the coming days, which predicts continued drizzle, humidity, and cold temperatures, electricity demand may increase, leading to higher electricity costs and potentially causing localized grid overload or power outages, especially during peak hours. Tuyen Quang Power Company advises customers to continue paying attention to safe and economical electricity usage, especially when using high-power electrical appliances such as water heaters, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and clothes dryers during peak hours.
