Chinese company introduces world's fastest PCIe Gen5 SSD

Chinese company UNIS Flash Memory has officially launched two new SSD models called S5 and S5 Ultra.

With an impressive read speed of up to 14,900 MB/s, this is considered one of the fastest SSDs in the world today. UNIS Flash Memory's S5 and S5 Ultra SSDs are not only outstanding in speed but are also designed to meet high-end usage needs.

Both SSD models use 3D NAND TLC flash memory technology and have M.2 2280 size. In particular, the S5 is equipped with a 1mm graphene heatsink to help maintain optimal performance during operation.

Outstanding parameters of SSD from China

With a PCIe 5.0 x 4 interface, the S5 is able to compete with top products such as the Crucial T705 or Samsung 9100 PRO. Although the S5 does not use DRAM, thanks to HMB and SLC caching technology, this drive still achieves impressive read/write speeds. Meanwhile, the S5 Ultra with its advanced 6nm controller chip provides read/write speeds of 14,200 MB/s and 13,400 MB/s respectively, bringing about huge improvements in performance.

In terms of durability, the S5 Ultra is capable of handling up to 2,400 TBW, suitable for applications that require high performance and heavy workloads. The S5's capacity ranges from 1 TB to 2 TB, while the S5 Ultra has 2 TB and 4 TB options to meet users' diverse storage needs.

Although information about the price and global release date of the SSD series has not been announced by UNIS Flash Memory, the launch of the S5 and S5 Ultra promises to create a big shock in the SSD market, making consumers eagerly wait to experience the speed and performance that this SSD can bring.
