Accordingly, the document clearly states that since the peak summer season of 2023 (from June 1, 2023), Vietnamese airlines have increased the number of flights on domestic routes.

Especially at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the number of operations increased by about 10-15% compared to the previous period with about 750 take-offs/landings per day (mainly during the day).

Through monitoring the implementation of slots (take-off/landing times) at Tan Son Nhat airport, it is shown that many domestic flights of airlines have not complied with confirmed slots, and the rate of correct slot usage of some airlines is still low (below 80%).

Specifically, in May 2023 at Tan Son Nhat airport, during daytime hours (from 7am to 7pm) on domestic flights, Pacific Airlines had a correct slot utilization rate of 64.32%. Vietjet had a correct slot utilization rate of 67.93%.

For night time slots (from 8pm to 6am the next day) on domestic flights, Pacific Airlines has a correct slot usage rate of 76.77%; Vasco has a correct slot usage rate of 73.33%; Vietjet has a correct slot usage rate of 73.07% and Vietravel Airlines has the lowest correct slot usage rate of 55.56%.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, this affects operations at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

To minimize and limit local congestion and ensure smooth flight service at Tan Son Nhat International Airport during the peak summer period of 2023, the Civil Aviation Authority requires Vietnamese airlines to improve the quality of planning and operating daily flights, ensuring strict compliance with confirmed slots.

The Civil Aviation Authority will continue to monitor airlines' slot compliance and take appropriate measures against airlines with low slot utilization rates.
