According to the survey results, 66% of Vietnamese tourists are willing to pay for services at 5-star hotels but not sleep there and 56% will rent a better car than the one they are using; 48% plan to choose a tourist destination with a lower cost of living than where they live.

Travelers who pursue a high-end lifestyle want to appear wealthy and leave behind the fact that they are doing the math to balance their expenses. Travelers love the idea of ​​having a vacation that looks luxurious but is still affordable.

In the coming year, cuisine will be an important criterion that Vietnamese people care about when traveling. 94% of respondents said that they want to explore and enjoy local cuisine at their destination. Vietnamese people also want to experience more adventure, such as traveling without planning in advance, willing to stay with strangers.

The increasingly hot weather due to the impact of climate change has also contributed to encouraging Vietnamese tourists to seek out and prioritize destinations with low temperatures. They also say that traveling is an opportunity to be true to their personalities, to be more conscious and responsible for the environment through choosing sustainable vacations.
