Hanoi University of Science and Technology announces admission scores for talent-based programs, with some majors seeing an increase of over 20 points.

On June 14th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology officially announced the cutoff scores for the talent-based admission method, accounting for approximately 20% of the 2024 enrollment quota.

Accordingly, the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10) major has the highest admission cutoff score for talent-based programs at 104.58/110 points. Compared to the 2023 score of 98.42 points, the cutoff score for the IT-E10 major increased by 6.16 points.

The remaining positions in the top 5 highest-scoring majors include: Computer Science (IT1) 103.89 points (up 13.72 points); Global ICT Information Technology (IT-E7) 102.67 points (up 20.67 points); Cyber ​​Security (IT-E15) 102.6 points (up 20.56 points); and Computer Engineering (IT2) 98.3 points (up 12.95 points).

These were also the top 5 majors with the highest admission scores for the talent-based program last year.

This year, several more majors have high admission scores of 90 points or higher, including the group of majors related to microchips and semiconductors (MS2); the group of majors related to health science and technology (ET2, ET-E5, CH-E11); and the group of majors related to logistics and business analysis (EM-E13, EM-E14).

Explaining why most of the admission scores for majors/training programs have increased compared to 2023, Hanoi University of Science and Technology stated that this increase is due to the nearly twofold increase in the number of applications for the talent-based admissions program in 2024 compared to last year.

"Intense competition was evident right from the 'entry' stage, with many high-achieving candidates applying. On the other hand, this is also a field with high demand for human resources in the current trend, attracting the attention of a large number of candidates," the Admissions and Career Guidance Board stated.

According to the Admissions and Career Guidance Board of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, this year there are 5,791 candidates who registered for admission to Hanoi University of Science and Technology through the talent-based selection method.

Specifically, 295 candidates applied for direct admission based on academic excellence as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training ; 928 candidates applied based on international certificates such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, and IB; and 4,568 candidates applied based on their academic profiles combined with interviews.

In 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will recruit 9,260 students through three methods: talent-based admission, accounting for approximately 20% of the quota; admission based on the results of a thinking skills assessment test, accounting for approximately 30% of the quota; and admission based on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores, accounting for approximately 50% of the quota.
