The Hoa Lac campus of Hanoi National University will welcome about 6,000 students from eight affiliated schools and faculties, triple the number from last year.
According to the plan of Hanoi National University, schools with students studying in Hoa Lac in the next school year include first-year students of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy and University of Technology, Vietnam-Japan University, Law, the pedagogical block of the University of Education , International School, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences and the entire grade 10 of the High School of Educational Sciences (HES).
The transfer of students to Hoa Lac has been carried out since last year with about 2,000 students from four member schools: Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam - Japan, Education and International.
To meet the learning and research needs of three times more students than last year, Hanoi National University is focusing on building infrastructure and synchronizing related areas such as lecture halls, dormitories, research areas, physical education areas, and experiential activity areas.

The master plan for investment in the construction of Hanoi National University in Hoa Lac was approved by the Prime Minister in October 2013, including 21 projects, with a scale to accommodate about 60,000 students.
In early July, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of the Construction Department of Hanoi National University, said that the lecture halls for thousands of students had been completed. The International School in Hoa Lac will be started at the end of this year with a construction area of nearly 13,000 square meters. Dormitory No. 4 with more than 5,000 accommodations will also be completed and put into use in the near future.
It is expected that by 2025, Hanoi National University will send about 15,000 students to study here.
Hoa Lac campus is built according to the "5 in 1" model: Talent training center; technology transfer research center; innovation center; smart university urban area; public-private partnership testing center and research training.
Hanoi National University aims to be in the top 100 in Asia and the top 500 in the world by 2025; and in the top 300 by 2040. Currently, according to the rankings of QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), Hanoi National University is in the group of 1,000 best universities in the world.
