The 6th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri Province, term 2024

Over two days, September 10-11, in Dong Ha City, the Vietnam Youth Union Committee of Quang Tri province organized the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri province, for the term 2024-2029.

Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Committee's Inspection Commission Ngo Van Cuong; Deputy Head of the Youth Solidarity and Mobilization Department of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Xuan Hieu; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam; Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Dao Manh Hung; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam; provincial leaders from various periods; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, districts, towns, and cities; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and 200 delegates representing over 130,000 young people throughout the province attended.

During the 2019-2024 term, the work of youth associations and movements in the province was implemented synchronously and comprehensively, with many creative forms and innovative content, achieving practical results, and most basic targets in all aspects of work were met or exceeded the set plan.

The work of uniting and gathering young people is expanding, contributing to attracting and gathering a large number of members and young people to participate in youth organizations as well as clubs, teams, and groups based on their interests and professions.

The "I Love My Homeland" movement has been widely implemented and deeply ingrained in the lives of young people, encouraging, motivating, and mobilizing a large number of young people to express their patriotism through concrete actions. Every year, all 9/9 Youth Union branches in districts, towns, and cities effectively implement the "Each Young Person a Creative Idea, Initiative" campaign and organize numerous conferences, forums on creative ideas, competitions, and creative playgrounds for young people... attracting more than 70,000 creative ideas from members and young people.

From 2019 to early 2024, the entire province organized 170 job counseling and placement activities for 65,350 members, youth union members, and demobilized soldiers. The association has facilitated vocational training for over 10,000 members and young people; annually, it sponsors over 300 poor households among young people; and over 90,000 members in the province have participated in volunteer activities organized by the Vietnam Youth Union of the province.

With the action slogan "Unity - Aspiration - Creativity - Development," the congress set forth goals, directions, tasks, and solutions for the 2024-2029 term.

The focus is on building a generation of patriotic, resilient, responsible, and morally upright young people in Quang Tri; fostering healthy and comprehensive development in intellect, physical health, and spirit; and cultivating revolutionary ideals, self-reliance, and solidarity.

100% of cadres and members have been thoroughly briefed and educated, and 80% of young people have been informed and educated about the resolutions of the Party, the Youth Union, and the Association, provided with information on policies and laws, and equipped with knowledge about national defense and security.

Annually, each member of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels participates in at least two volunteer activities; organizes campaigns to encourage young volunteers to donate 25,000 units of blood; organizes at least five activities to equip young people with entrepreneurial knowledge; supports at least 25 innovative startup projects for young people; and provides job counseling and career guidance to 22,500 young people...

Within the framework of the congress, delegates presented numerous papers and discussed best practices and models in youth union work and movements; organized two forums on "The aspiration to contribute, the meaning of life for young people - Building a model of youth in the new era" and "Quang Tri youth learning, creating, and starting businesses"; organized an exhibition of "Youth startup products booths"; and held a flower and incense offering ceremony at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Highway 9...

Speaking at the congress, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Xuan Hieu congratulated the achievements of the Vietnam Youth Federation of Quang Tri province in the past term. At the same time, he hoped that the Vietnam Youth Federation of the province would continue to implement the movement "I love my Fatherland" in a practical, effective and sustainable manner.

Continue to innovate the content and methods of the association's activities; focus on strongly applying digital transformation throughout the association; research effective solutions in promoting the entrepreneurial mindset and skills among young people; constantly expand the front of solidarity and gathering of young people, focusing on the broad scope of the association in the spirit of "strong union, broad association" and "wherever there are young people, there must be an association or its activities," creating trust among young people in the association.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized: The achievements of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province and all its members and young people in the province during the past term are very commendable. He also highly appreciated the open-minded spirit, serious attitude, and frankness in evaluating the limitations and shortcomings pointed out by the congress, as well as analyzing the causes and proposing solutions to overcome them.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam suggested that more attention should be paid to several key tasks such as: Continuing to build and strengthen the great unity, widely gathering all strata of youth, ensuring high unity in thought and action; paying more attention to the work of consolidating and building strong youth organizations; building a core force of cadres among members and young people; continuing to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to do a good job of educating and guiding young people, contributing to building a new generation of young people with "pure hearts, bright minds, and great ambitions"; promoting and organizing patriotic emulation movements among young people...

We urge Party committees, government agencies, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the entire society to always pay close attention with high responsibility, provide guidance, support, and create favorable conditions for the Vietnam Youth Union organization in the province to successfully fulfill its assigned tasks, creating the most favorable opportunities for young people to contribute and grow.

At the congress, delegates deliberated and elected 33 members to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri province, term VI, 2024-2029; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan was re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri province, term VI, 2024-2029.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 3 individuals; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 8 individuals; and the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives and 6 individuals for outstanding achievements in youth union work and youth movements during the 2019-2024 term.

On this occasion, responding to the call of the Central Youth Union and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province to support people affected by typhoon No. 3, the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union of Quang Tri province, in coordination with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, calls on delegates, union members, young people, businesses, units, and philanthropists to join hands in helping and sharing with people in the North to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.

The Vietnam Youth Union of the province will receive resources through bank transfers and through the Provincial Youth Union Office.
